I think suppression could work but it would have to be handled carefully. First of all only high rates of sustained fire from the HMG or a Blaster Turret OR the combined effort of 3 assault rifle users/4 submachine gunners should be able to cause the effect.
Secondly the effect should only become more pronounced depending on the targets total DS meta level. An immortal in a crapfit or a starterfit probably isn't going to feel much sense of fear as they have nothing to lose except the one battle. Someone geared up with the latest proto-techno thingy DS and carrying a gun worth 100x it's weight in ISK might get a little worried should they come under such intensive fire.

It would certainly accompany the ton of lense flare/lighting glare used in the game already. Can't wait for the game to be doused in bloom and given a strong colour filter. |

The sun flare is a terrain feature a smart player can use to his advantage, same thing on a flashlight is op and makes in hard for anyone you are firing at to return fire.
We have suppression already, people see tracer shoot by they take cover. This is how it works in real life, peoples eyes don't blur when bullets go by. They take cover to avoid being shot.
Giving war points for missing seems like it would be a easy way to spam orbitals like the vehicle repair points were before fixed, bad idea.
When we get attachments/rigs/whatever ccp calls them, a bipod to enable prone could work. Smaller target, less mobility, limited field of fire, and reduced recoil sound like they could be balanced well enough to make it a play style choice to use weapons with or without a bipod.
The mass driver/explosion effect seems like a good feature to me, but I think the amount it throws off aim is to much right now. A milder version would be perfect, in my opinion at least. If anything blurred vision it should be explosives, not missed shots. |

As long as you balance it right (and they eventually did), it works well for the game. If you fire first you should have the upper hand, and suppresion is the best way to do it. You are trash. Hit your targets don't ******* whine for **** you missed. A. Sorry for having an opinion B. Who said I'm missing? If a single bullet misses (and don't tell me you don't miss a single bullet in medium range encounters) then the guy is surpressed.

Please delete the game from your hard drive. The dust community IQ will raise with your departure.
Delete your brain, that should raise the average IQ of the world AND we would get a nice and calm conversation. If you have a different opinion, explain why I'm wrong instead of saying I'm an idiot and not explaining why. You won't get anywhere if you act like this. |
