I think I joined eve in dominion time with the discs that came with 1 or 2 year subscription I wasn't too fond of MMOs back then and was too dumb to listen to tutorials so stopped playing don't even remember my name. Anyways back to topic should I go back? Any buddies wanting to help me out? Please make reasonable replies and help me choose |

It all really depends on how much your attitude towards that style of game has changed since last you played, only thing I could advise really is to try out the free trail again to get a feel for the game once more and see if it has grown on you?
From what I could pick up from last time I played it and what other eve vets say on this forum you really need a long game strategy in mind. don't know if this is of any help tho |

Im not so sure. bluntly eve is not great for most gamers until they outgrow their manic phase. if you are mentally geared for fast progression, arent methodical in your skill choices or have a clear idea what you want from the game i recommend sticking it out as a dustbunny.
Eve is still the vile cesspool we all know and love. but it is hard to get into a training corp that can help.
If youre a member of the something awful forums, congrats, you can be a goon. Goonswarm Federation is, in fact a training ground alliance of evil. Apply to the Goonwaffe
If you are on reddit i suggest TEST Alliance Please Ignore. look for Dreddit corporation.
if you are neither (I am not, nor will i be) I recommend avoiding the above groups. They will scam you, then kill you, scam you again with alts and try to harvest your tears of rage. In fact i encourage people to kill goons and TEST dummies at every opportunity. Mostly because i think its funny, and miners are too easy. Like, waste of time easy.
Past that? Do research. My corp is mostly indy with a strong corps of madmen who enjoy killin ****. I fly combat logi and battlecruisers there mostly. |

Smuggler: you need a blockade runner. and forget about drugs and such. youll be smuggling cheap things from high security space to sell at 300% profit in null. takes about a month just for the ship, and another 120-160days to get the skills you need to fly it effectively.
Pirate? if you have friends you can enjoy piracy as a tackler approximately 24-72 hours from new account. all you need is a frigate, microwarpdrive skills, and propulsion jamming to 3.
For the dustbunnies who are not eve players a tackler is someone who flies a cheap, expendable ship, and uses speed as their main defense while rendering warp drives useless and effectively immobilizing ships that can cost millions, or even billions of ISK helpless so their buddies with the big guns can pound them to scrap. frigates are the best tacklers, and with a bit more work interceptors are tech 2 frigates that specialize as tacklers.
If you get tackled by a taranis, you are dealing with the frigate equivalent of a pitbull. its not as fast as its contemporaries, but it packs the firepower to massacre cruisers and battlecruisers that arent prepared for it. |

If you've really got a mad-on for piracy, and you have friends in game, your countdown to piracy can begin five minutes after you log in, figure out how to use a gate and set a route to link up with said friends.
Expect that you are going to lose ships. the cold truth is that it is inevitable. some bastards go through ships like I go through dropsuits. |
