Didn't last long but it did lift off and managed several laps before somebody noticed. It wasn't the best way to test but I had a few equipped and the initial map was clear with only a few mercs on either side.
The guides helped, although the R1 doesn't always map correctly in my brain. Shoulder button, right! As soon as I quit trying to descend past ground level it took off. No matter how long the PS3 games stay on the play list mapping the buttons is still wrong to me. The numbers should be in sequence. Too many years programming one might guess.
But the ship flew!
Thanks to Iron Wolf Saber and his guides.
Also to his many commenters and the subsequent explanations with several opposing viewpoints.
As soon as my mic gets here I hope to find a corp to play with and get me some gunners for DSs and HAVs.
A corp sponsored mapped for trainees would be perfect. At least the DS lasted longer then my first pass with a tank.

This has partially inspired me to become a pilot. Oh the adventures that await... marvellous!
Now just the slight problem of breaking the news to my ISK budget... oh god help me. |

Just wait until a guy with a standard forge gun takes your 400k Myron down in 5 seconds. The marvel of being a dropship pilot...
(When I see a dropship I also switch to my forge dropsuit as soon as a I can, so it's all fair) |

Fellow pilot in the making! The corp I'm part of is looking for pilots. I really wish we could have vehicle training areas as well, can't get much flight time i with a militia DS on Skirmish and your team kind of wants you to be helping them win a match rather than learning how not to crash the flying bricks. Unless it's into an enemy. |
