I'm getting sick of Heavies with HMGs using LAVs to roll up next to people then dismount. Even with the lag it takes them to dismount their vehicle their is no way for you to burn through their armor before that HMG tears through you instantly, and the range on the HMG makes it impossible to run away for cover.
Heavies should not be able to fit in an LAV, and them abusing them like this completely nullifies their weakness that they are supposed to be slow. |

How about asking for exit animations so it takes time for people to get out of a vehicle instead of arbitrarily restricting people from entering in the first place? The problem is with the instantaneous exit and firing, not that they are able to ride in an LAV. |

I disagree. The LAV is partly for fast transport, and fast transport works well for slow infantry, so I think it's working as intended. Also, if this is for the sake of realism, it's not unfeasible to think that someone could prepare to jump out off a vehicle and successfully do so in a second if they had prepared to beforehand, which is pretty close to instant. |

what about making the speed of the vehicle depend on the amount of weight it has i mean that a LAV carrying a Heavy should be slower than one carrying a Scout, like using plates Bigger Plates = Less Speed / Accelaration

agreed, since when have LAV's been such a threat?! get a swarm launcher. even the best LAV's can only take 3 to 4 vollies of milita swarms and it only taks one to send them spinning out of control. |

No. Let the fatties have their hover rounds. It takes them where theeeey wanna go... But seriously, no. Rapid transport for heavy assulters is a valid tactic and a must. |

I would suggest entry/exit delays as well - but with a twist. Only delay the driver. Passenger and gunner could still instantly disembark. Make the taxis have taxi drivers!
Would make more sense, too. Much easier to get out of a vehicle quickly if you're already mostly there, and you can't be mostly out if you're driving. |

Much more realistic in terms of combat. Now that I think about it, however, I think more agile dropsuits should have less delay. |

We're not talking about MAX suits in Planetside 2, here, and even in that game the only restriction is that they can't drive. They can still use any passenger seat. You don't solve an issue like this by taking abilities away from the player completely. A reasonable boarding animation is a perfect solution, as well as having the player inherit the vehicle's inertia while on the ground so that you can't just bail at a standstill and and be ready to go. |

I don't think this would be quite such an issue if it were possible to damage people in vehicles. Hit detection should be fixed so that shots at a LAV can damage the passengers (driver, gunner and side seat anywhere on the body rather than just headshots) and that if the vehicle takes damage those inside take proportionate damage, i.e. if an LAV is on fire, everyone inside should not just be able to bail entirely unharmed and run away before it blows. |

I agree with o.p. if youre going to run a heavy that restriction to speed should not be allowed to be altered. Its one of the only advantages given to players over the heavies. They sbuse the system for easy kills. Its not right that something that cheap is allowed to throw off the balance.

Simple fix that solves way more issues than just this one:
No more free LAV's.
Sure it makes the barrier of entry into vehicles higher but it also makes calling out one involve risk assessment. Even if its dirt cheap it still makes the murder taxi slightly more reputable. |

I agree with this disagree, LAVs are for transport purposes mostly, so heavies being able to use it for an advantage over other faster and more maneuverable suit users is fair game.
Also, having to force an animation of stepping outta the vehicle would also have to affect ALL suit types, not just heavies. If you wanna pull that animation crap of stepping outta the vehicle, then every suit should have to pay the penalty in my opinion, not just heavies. |

You guys complaining should just wait until you can fire your weapon from the passenger seat and are contending with HMGs and Mass Drivers zooming round maps. Time to invest in some AV! (adv AV nades work best against LAVs) |

I just realized something- We shouldn't be worried about heavies getting an "unfair" advantage from LAVs.
We should be worried about why they would rather use HMGs than small blasters. |

This is weird, I just checked the DPM of a proto blaster vs proto HMG (assuming every shot hits) proto blaster: 278,825 hybrid damage per minute proto HMG: 35,200 projectile damage per minute
Either the accuracy is a huge difference (turret accuracy ratings aren't listed), there's another factor affecting this, or we're all extremely stupid. |

There is no way you have that blaster number correct (no dpm numbers I have are over 65,000, but I don't have the new blaster values in my spreadsheet yet). I bet you're off by a factor of 10, probably missed the decimal in the rpm. |

When you are shooting from blaster you can not evade counter-attack(you are sitting in place duck, no strafe or jumps). What's more if LAV die, you gone die with him no matter how much more HP then LAV you had. |
