TL;DR: basically to explain the SP system, the more you play the less you earn till your cap resets, but you still need to grind to keep your edge even if its 1-5k per match, it helps sides more ISK inst a bad thing, no. But earning less and less is frustrating and not making people want to play. and than below its a rant and proposals of new systems to which I will at too later.
Honestly, I think we should have a cap but not a diminishing returns system, it dosent encourage good game play, besides take from most fps games with some sort of experience system and they give you solid base numbers each time.
Sure it takes a while to level unfortunetly here the system is much different. but even if people level up quickly, inst that kinda the whole point to play a game, to get better at it?
Say If I played like, tennis all the time and did nothing but play tennis, im going to be better than that one person that plays tennis every once in a while.
Its a game, I don't understand why people get so butthurt over losing, your gonna die till you get some viable skills and self gaming skills. You should only care about your k/d when you actually get yourself established somewhere.
But, I dunno, to explain it, I really cant, expect that to the people that play all the time, like me, kudos to them, you endure junk that makes you not want to play all the time and unfortunately in this day and age this system like this with experience that punishes you practically for playing more, dosent make a good game. I know its a free to play, but still even free to plays can have good systems, Aur sales/ real money sales are what fund most free to play games and than if you want extras you buy things with real money, luckily not everything in this game is overly underpowered compared to the regular guns you buy.
But also, the guns you buy are all practically the same anyways, it really just comes down to what you spec into and what you spec into correctly and what you spec into also affects your SP.
So say you do really good on one match and you earn a ton of SP and than another match you don't do so well and earn little SP, well that match you did horribly is a regular SP bonus match cause your earning your full stake there and its not cut, so you play a couple matches and it gets cut down, well ok so you keep playing and than you see it go down more and you keep playing and than it turns into a vicious cycle of yeah your grinding SP just to get an edge and this is also what makes a game frustrating, cause people just want to drop in play, earn stuff and be happy. People don't want to lose constantly and not earn enough for the more they play as compared to the less they play.
Regardless of if you wait for the daily cap to reset or not, your not going to get anywhere fast, your gonna have to grind and that's probably the most frustrating part about this game cause if your not grinding than your losing out on SP that could give you that one little boost and edge over the people that go to all the events and rack up tons and tons of SP and than still its not enough, than their were people that go and abuse the system itself just to earn SP.
If we didn't have a diminishing returns system and SP gain was a standardized percent we would have a better game, ok So say you hit your cap, and than it just kinda like cuts into 20% of what you earn. as compared to just dropping down to where your earning like 2-5k per match, cause honestly that's really not gonna get you anywhere even if you play a day. You would literally have to play hundreds and hundreds of matches and get to the top of the leader board in all of those hundreds of matches to get anywhere. Firstly with all those matches you would be swimming in ISK.
But a good solution would be, you can only hold so much SP at a time, say you could only hold like a million and when you earn a million that's your daily cap and when you hit a million it resets in say three hours so your earning the full amount of SP again or so and it halves itself by like 60 % in terms of the cap and than you play for a while, hit that cap and than it halves itself again 20% in cap terms and than the 12AM cap reset kicks in, yeah yeah don't moan and groan but you need to take a break some time right? With this system you would play and than as soon as its a new day, after DT or whatever your cap goes up by 20% and than if you wait another 3 hours it goes back up by 60% and if you wait just three more hours it goes back to 100%.
So with the system in the paragraph above, you wouldn't be earning less SP, you would just be able to hold a certain amount in a certain amount of time and than you would have to spend it, it would suck but it would prevent people who play a lot from just levelling up as quickly as they are with boosters and stuff, because these people go into games and grind and grind and grind and spec into basically god like fits and say a new player comes in and they get like dropped by this godly person every time their not gonna wanna play are they? No their not.
