I'm thinking most people will just be trying to kill you in this topic, since the mechanics are far above subpar, unless CCP has actually stepped back since the last month. |

Apologies if sounding ignorant, I haven't even tried Codex, only the preceding build which had very clunky hit detection, poor movement, slow strafing, bad frame rate speed (understandable for beta), and generally not fun FPS mechanics, making the gameplay tedious and boring.
Just trying to see if the above has vastly improved. That is all. |

Most of the issues you noted have been addressed....possibly not to your individual preferences but addressed none the less.
The one thing that remains unchanged if you played early builds is that strafe speed and general character movement is still down compared to what it was 3 or 4 builds ago. |

the frame rate doesn't suck anymore
codex imo was a crap build with decrepid hamsters.. it was %40 unplayable most of the time due to the horrendous frame rate errors. if you missed codex you didn't miss much except a bunch of frustration- every single fight consisted of the frame rate freezing making it luck based if you won or not. |

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Everything's a LITTLE faster than Codex, and a lot smoother. Some people have been reporting deadzone issues again, but hopefully the old fix of tweaking PS Move deadzone settings will fix that like it always has.
There's been a major rebalance of ARs, so now a lot of other weapons which were too situational to really work are actually viable counters to the gun, making it more of an option and less of a "must have" weapon that everyone uses.
Framerate's more consistent and a little higher, and the animations and graphics are smoother and cleaner respectively. Lag in-game isn't 100% gone, but is a lot less severe than it used to be, and the micro-freezes you frequently encountered during CQC are also nearly eliminated. At worst, they've improved on almost every problematic aspect of the game. There are a few things people still have issues with though (obviously). |

I like most of what was done in this. The nerf bat (as always) hit the ARs too hard. 3 changes in 1 go is a little much. 1 change was warranted, 1 change was done to all light weaponry, and 1 change completely destroys the capability to effectively use the AR in ADS. |

Or he's drinking the Haterade....
Several other people gave you an honest assessment but theirs clearly lacked the hate you were looking for.
You should just play it yourself and form your own opinion.
The build is a vast technical improvement but there are things that people don't like, as should be expected. |

Yes & no. The game is smoother so allows for better gameplay, but with current fixes/adds/removals id say it it worse in sense the gun fights have turned into CoD battles of hipfire w/ limited ads function |

Instead of asking other's why not try it for yourself seeing as you didn't even play Codex most of the response's you will get will be from player's who think they know how to make an FPS but none of them have ever developed a FPS so they really know nothing at all |

I really don't understand the hate for the ARs new iron sights (the Burst and Tact variants still have the scope, btw). It's a tiny bit harder to sight a target, sure, but it's very serviceable.
The fact that a positive hit now has a distinguishable sound effect helps too.
I normally suck, but yesterday I took out a squad of five solo in close quarters with the Exile AR (iron sights) and clever use of grenades to keep them from all coming around the corner at once. I'd say it's working fine. |

Well, assuming there isn't someone in this beta who isn't a FPS developer. There may be a high possibility that someone might be, considering anyone can buy into the beta via Merc Pack.
As someone who has only played this build and the previous, I vastly enjoy this one more. If for no other reason than assault rifles are just annoying enough to not feel an absolutely necessary choice.
Of course the performance issues are a much loved buff as well. |

Yes it dose it's up and down like a working girls undies, still getting mini freezes they dont last as long as in 1 or 2 seconds it's more like a stutter now but they are still there and frequent,
Movement is still like playing in treacle, but it looks oh so pretty and we all know thats the most important thing .
But it seems to be getting better all be it very slowly, only need to put the fun facter back now or just go back 4 builds and it would be ok'ish |

That's it.
And movement compared to some earlier builds is slow, but compared to Codex, it's sped up - not hugely, but it's faster than it was.
More importantly, your claim about the framerate being up and down doesn't match my experience (or the your quoted poster's experience, apparently) at all. The framerate isn't rock-solid, but it's a LOT better than a few post-release supposedly AAA titles I've played recently. |

Read the forum or do a search I am not the only one with issues of a wandering frame rate.
Your claim about not haveing issues dosn't match my experiance so who's right ? Then you say it's not rock solid sounds a bit contradicting .

And I was emphasising that I'm speaking about my own personal experience to point out that the framerate issues aren't affecting everyone - I wasn't saying that you're wrong, just that there are plenty of people NOT having problems as well. |

Chromosome is much better as far as gun game mechanics and weapon balance so far. It still needs work but this is better.
However every time I go back to playing Battlefield 3 I'm kind of blown over by how much better that part of the game is (ignoring graphics and map design). I will admit that a fair amount of this comes down to familiarity (after putting in over 400 hours into that game) but I've talked to others with similar impressions. |

yup it just feels natural, for the same experiance you realy have to work at dust in all areas and it still feels flat. |

I think Semperfi said it really well, 3 changes to ARs not just one.
My whole problem with the Iron Sights is this... Is this a Futuristic Shooter or another CoD knockoff? One reason I wanted to play this was it was supposed to be future based. Iron Sights are WWII based.
