I can understand torso or other parts of the body where you can simply get injected with something to help you ignore the pain and keep fighting - but a bullet in the head is rather permanent. If you don't die to that last hit being a headshot, it's not a bullet in your head. It's a bullet trapped in the armour around your head, or deflected by the shields around that armour. For that matter, why do headshots do bonus damage to shields? That seems silly to me.
And if the bullet hits the lower portion of your head, then the same nanites that comfortably and easily rebuild your internal organs and any spinal damage lower down your back can reasonably be expected to repair any damage to the top of your spinal cord where it meets the brain. If it's your brain itself being destroyed, then your consciousness would be automatically and immediately transferred as teh brain is being damaged, so no revive for you. But other than that, it's reasonable to expect that YES, you CAN be revived.
Try google searching "headshot survivor" - there are a surprising number of them out there. |

A hit to the lower part of your head, even with smoking hot plasma, can reasonably be expected - especially while being partly absorbed by the remains of your armour - to not harm the brain at all in some cases. |

Honestly, I agree with the logic (both lore-wise and gameplay-wise) behind headshots preventing resurrection, but I was playing devil's advocate because I can see the other side too.
Ideally, the game would have a triple-layered set of hitboxes. On shields, you take fixed damage over the entire body, armour takes increased damage to the head, and once the armour fails, you get downed unless you're hit in a smaller "brain" hitbox rather than allowing it to count shots to any part of your head.
Obviously that's impractical, and particularly silly considering it'll be near-impossible for most players to pick whether they hit the right part of the head anyway with most weapons, so what you COULD do is make it a 'threshold" system - if more than X damage hits the head after armour is counted, instant death. If not, they can fix you. |
