Currently the top end Forge guns do more damage than the top end Railguns, i mean WTF? i dont know how you would come up with this decision its pretty crazy.
I suggest reducing the damage to at least the same level, in reality the Forguns shouldnt do the same damage as a turret mounted on a HAV that takes over a 1000PG to run.

Agreed, I spend allot of time and XPs to become a "good" pilot with very expensive Dropships.
Yesterday playing for the first time after the update, I got shot down in two hits from a FORGE GUN!?!?!?!?!?!
Mind that I mounted and updated my Dropship to Over 2600 shield and over 1650 armor.
This does not help the pilots, already rare to see a dropship in the game, now I know why!?!
Reduce the damage and also the distance.
Thank you. |

Seems a bit too easy to destroy an HAV with a forge gun for their price. I would be fine with HAVs being more durable, as long as their firepower doesn't increase. HAV's firepower isn't an automatic "I-WIN" button like it was back when missiles were dominating, so I think the need for forge guns to be so powerful has greatly diminished.
The damage of HAV railguns is pretty irrelevant in my opinion, its the damage of the forge gun vs the HP of HAV (with tanking modules) that should be compared. A well fitted gunlogi should not be destroyed by less than 6 forge gun shots.
Well fitted standard tanking dropships shouldn't be taken down in less than 3 shots.
When stasis webifiers come and allow infantry to paralyze vehicles, its going to be a problem if the forge gun is still so powerful. |

Agree on some points, HAV shouldnt be an instant i-win button, which it isnt anyway atm, but you shouldnt be able to carry around a weapon that does more damage than one attached to said HAV. I think this is as close as Shield HAV have been to being balanced, survivability of Shield HAV is fine atm it Armour HAV that need love.
Reduction in Forgegun damage would be the way to go.
When/If stasis webifiers come all you will see is very defensive Sniper tanks, no one will want to back ground troops up if you can be paralized . That basicly turns you into expensive cannon fodder.

One of the main reasons it takes so much PG for your Vehicle rails is that you guys get longer range and have unlimited ammo. A forge gun is raw shorter range power with only 4 shots to a clip that has to be charged for every round. Large rails on the tank are designed to snipe other armor off the field.
Just because you are unhappy with the effectiveness of your weapon doesn't mean that another weapon needs to be nerfed. |

Shield HAV's have it worse as FOrge guns are more effective on them. They both need love. |

Don't touch my forge. Stop crying your militia tank gets rocked by a protoforge with proficiency. A protoforge against a prototank is a joke on the AV guy. |

Forge guns are fine. The base damage of a forge gun is in fact higher than a railgun but once you get the right skills up, the railgun does alot more damage. I'm talking about anywhere from 1k-2.5k more damage with the right skills. That's why good tankers can 1-2 shot all tanks (even proto), while forge gunners have to shoot 6-8 shots at a top tier tank.

Currently the top end tank can tank 10x as much damage as a top end heavy who holds a forge gun at it moves 3x as fast or more and it can actively boost its HP.
Please reduce tanks to 1000hp to make it more inline.
Seriously though, forge guns are awful and if you are getting soloed by one, you deserve to lose your tank. |

A good HAV will deal more damage than a Forge Gun. Plain and simple. If it doesn't, well, you are wasting your time driving it. Not only that, but it is faster.
Forge Guns also come with an awful side effect that they prevent you from fitting another main weapon, meaning you have to be very good at using a Forge Gun against infantry, or you are forced to defend against infantry with your sidearm. They don't need any more nerfs, because they are not overpowered.
I do, however, think Large Turrets have too much trouble hitting infantry. For some reason, my blaster projectiles were flying right through the enemy's infantry. It literally did nothing to them. I don't know why that is. |

Ammo capacity has nothing to do with power requirements. Range and charge speed do because they both dependent on the energy supplied.
With the recent reduction in spool time for rail guns I believe they have the advantage in RoF. I wouldn't include damage mods in the power equation as they carry their own fitting requirements and don't draw from the weapon itself. |

^This
Limitless ammo and longer range balance out the higher alpha strike of the Forge. Having said that HAVs in Chromosome need their durability improved. The damage output seems reasonable and with it's decreased effectiveness a higher durability in HAVs (and Dropships as well for that matter) becomes not only reasonable but almost requisite to their presence on the field. |
