I have to assume this is a bug because it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, so I am posting it here.
The Southpaw control scheme is now missing from the Aerial Vehicles. In fact, there is no other option other than default for all control types. Is this intentional? If so, may I ask why? This is incredibly frustrating for me, as Southpaw is the control scheme that I have always flown with. Forcing me to use default is equivalent to telling me to write with my left hand when I am right-handed. The patch notes even said they added new control schemes so I was eager to see if CCP added Legacy Southpaw...
Please, any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated. |

Sigh...I, too, was looking forward to better control schemes, as the default controls for vehicles are horrible. Maybe they gave us the patch notes for a future build? All I'm hoping for now is that these notes mean that CCP understands they have a big problem with controller schemes and will be addressing this before the open beta. It is annoying when someone tells you they did something when, in fact, they did nothing of the sort.
And can I just add that the LAV controls feel like they were designed by a person who has never even been in the drivers seat of a car, much less actually driven one? |

It was annoying last build to have module selection on the same button as downwards thrust, but to remove southpaw completely is even worse. I assume it's a mistake or something which has been overlooked, but I just can't fly dropships effectively at all with the default control scheme.
Dropships being fairly useless now is another matter entirely, but I at least need a control scheme that I'm comfortable with and used to so I can fly them properly. |

This thread needs more than just a daily bump. Has any Dev even acknowledged this issue? Did they take away the other controller schemes on purpose because they have to rebuild the code for their controls from scratch? Was it a mistake, and right now there are people scrambling to figure out what happened? Was it a joke, and right now there are a bunch of Devs laughing at Dropship pilots saying, "LOL Noob! Get gunz!" |

Ah, that is unfortunate that they removed it because of bugs. The only issue I remember concerning the Southpaw setting was the descend and the module select button were both on R2. It was mildly irritating and restricted some mobility for the pilot, but when its the only way you can fly, it was manageable. Default is not.
I am disappointed in their decision to remove it, because it nullifies a lot of SP that I have put into my character. Oh well. Hopefully they'll be added again soon. And yes, definitely with Legacy. I miss my Legacy Southpaw very much.
