 Joining a corporation

A corp. gives you a "home"; like minded mercs to fight alongside; your corpies can support with your game play, your character progession, your finances and more; being part of something bigger rather than just a random "blueberry".

 Calling medics

Every time you die to respawn on the field of battle you lose your current fit, if that fit costs a lot of ISK/AUR then every time you bleed out you lose money. So calling for medical help gives you a chance to get back on your feet and keep fighting.
We may be immortal clone jumping warriors but good guns and suits don't come cheap

You join a corporation for the same reason you do it in every other guild or clan, to have friends to talk to and do coordinated teamwork, plus the corp usually helps you get started.

And you call a medic so you won't die, the dropsuit you are wearing costs money and upon death you lose that suit.

1v1 is a 50:50 chance 1v4 with sniper and tank support is a sure win. Thats why you join a corp.

Medics revive you to save your loadout and spawn counters. Also you can get direct reps from them giving you an active tank, or a better one.

Seriously though I can only reiterate what has already been stated. A Corp is your home away from home within the DUST universe. You are in a group of liked minded folk, who tend to aid and better one another, and overall work towards a greater unifying goal. In short, being in a Corp, it's the comfort of knowing that someone on that battlefield has your intentions in mind and watches your back.

Don't do it in this build. By default, medics and other players can see an icon over the location of your dead body. When you request a medic, it simply makes this icon blink. The blinking makes it harder to find a dead body, and it is also rather annoying. I almost never pick up someone spamming it.

 I second this,

Blinking tells me that the person that's down is alive and has the will to live, so that if i'm on my way to him he's going to see my message and stay there until he's forced to respawn.

If the icon is not blinking and is outside my minimaps 2nd Circle i usually don't bother breaking squad formation to go revive them since there is a chance they'll bleed and i won't be there to protect my squad when they need me.

 Keep the faith.
