Did they decrease the area of play in many of these maps? It seems I can't walk 100 feet in any direction now without hitting the red border of death. Makes vehicles useless. |

In an Ambush map, you really shouldn't need any sort of vehicles. And yes the maps are much tighter. Like a hipsters' skinny jeans. |

Useless? A blaster tank should be able to clean up on smaller maps. |

I seem to crush red dots perfectly fine with my lav on these smaller maps. |

Well, good for the rest of you. I find the LAV vehicles much more limited in use now, especially as apparently many of the roads on all of the Ambush maps are in the "red zone" now.
While some of the technical issues have been cleaned up, and the game is running much better, the map decrease for me at least has led to a drastic drop in enjoyment of the game. Everybody seems on top of everyone else now. It plays more like your average Call of Duty game in this respect, and I for one find that very distasteful.
If I had come in to the beta at this point, instead of several weeks ago, I would be left with a very unfavorable opinion of Dust 514. As it stands, currently I no longer have any drive to continue playing. (Waiting for all the "Don't let the door hit you on the way out!" comments now.) However, I'm sure that the game I did enjoy is still buried in there somewhere, and I suppose I'll check in here and there on the path to the open beta to see if anything has changed. |
