I should mention that you should use what you "Like" or "Want" to use, not what is "Effective". Militia fits are extremely flimsy but the Type-1 and above fits are where the real meat of your fit is going to be. Along with the Advanced rank weaponry is where your choice of weapon will develop into something great.
No there is no way to purposefully join an empty game. If you can i would find a squad.
Keep the faith. Not only does he heal those of us that need it without being asked he gives good advice.
I do what i can.
Also I have an idea for some of the new players out there. It worked really well for me when i was starting out but it's really risky and i warn you that it may not work for you, it only worked for me because of my personality.
The easiest way to reference this is by using the movie "The Dark Knight Rises" as a analogy. Don't worry i won't give away any major spoilers. Anyway... during the movie, Bruce Wayne is unable to accomplish a certain task do to the fact that "he does not FEAR death." and this, instead of making him strong, makes him unable to accomplish this task. It wasn't until he put himself in mortal danger and regained his will to live, that he was able to accomplish his task. As Immortal Clone warriors, some of us have forgotten how to FEAR death. It's the fear of death that can push man to unbelievable heights and do the impossible.
What i did, unknowingly, back during the beginning of Codex was make a fit that included for the first time a GEK-38 Assault RIfle. Which brought the cost of my usual fit to around 40K per death. During a period of time in my life where getting 100K after a match was excellent work
Naturally, this was a Logistic Dropsuit and as such had kitten all for Armor and Shield. So anybody with a Light Damage modifier could breathe on me and take out my Shield and good Teammates that cared about my safety were few and far between. Despite this i wanted to see what a fit like this could do. So i proceeded to the battle finder and went into an Ambush match.
What i then found was a feeling i hadn't felt since invaded by a Black Phantom for the first time in Demon's Soul's. If you've played you know what i'm talking about. That feeling that if you DIE then EVERYTHING is lost, that you MUST defeat the enemy in front of you. Some call this the desire to win... some call it the will to live... some call it "Panic"... I call it Mortality. That sense of panic gets to you and it's almost like your own life is being threatened and adrenaline is pumping through your veins. It's scientifically proven that when a person is put in a dangerous situation their sense of pain is dulled and their 5 senses are heightened in order to ensure survival. A base instinct among all living creatures.
This, in essence is what happened to me. I"m not sure why, all i know i was overcome with a sense that i "DID NOT WANT TO LOSE MY NEW FITTING CUZ IT"S EXPENSIVE!!!" Call my a cheap kitten if you want but... I came in third place that match, as a Logibro without a squad, with no deaths, and for the first time ever my KD went UP.
Keep the faith. |
