Started up PS3.
Opened DUST.
Got a "checking for updates" message, followed by a notification that "version 4.00" is available for download.
Pressed "ok"
System beeps 3 times and reboots.
Try again, same thing happens.
Nice update... |

Left the PS3 to cool down for a few minutes and tried again.
Still said 4.00 here.
I've deleted everything DUST-related (except a trailer) and will be reinstalling. Hopefully that fixes it. |

I tried that. Didn't work.
Deleting the game and reinstalling worked just fine though. So I did that. |

Close combat feels like it's been cleaned up nicely. I'm liking that.
I'm a little iffy on the grenade changes at the moment, but there are three ways that could go, and only one is bad mechanics (it's more likely that either I suck or need to learn the new system).
My biggest problem is that Ambush is literally unplayable for me so far. I've been repeatedly kicked out of battles without spawning, then searching again has thrown me into the same battle, but now with a 0/2 K/D (yes, apparently, getting disconnected without ever spawning can sometimes count as TWO deaths now). |

Nice update... I can help you with this. The update screen is actually just an overlay. The game is still loading in the background, and the reason it resets is because DUST is not responding to the 'close game and update' request in time. To fix it, just wait until you hear the CCP logo noise in the background, and then initiate the update.
I'd actually tried that.
The first time I did it, I started the game up while I was putting food in the microwave. The CCP logo had already played all the way through before I did anything. I tried everything I could think of without deleting the game, and nothing worked.
Deleting and re-downloading fixed the problem. |
