Same Error Here
Dust starts -> Update Notice -> OK PS3 goes into Update Mode (where it usually states: you cannot do background download) I see a pretty long "please wait"
This error 80710092 pops up with suggested problem solving (restart router, check internet)
Didnt have time to test much, just searched forum and this thread came up..
Edit: Starting the Dust514 2.6GB Download from PSN in the background.. |

If you are using wireless connection you should have some issues. I would recommend to delete the client and all content of DUST 514 from your PS3 and then connect the internet cable from your PS3 and plug it directly to your MODEM. (avoid router).
Let me know if that helps. |

It would appear I lucked out then as I only had my PS3 reset once then I managed to download the update in an hour and a half with my wireless connection. |

Would I be right in thinking that the download process has no error detection or correction in it?
It seems that way, which would mean that anything which might result in less than 100% bit-for-bit perfect data transfer will result in an error somewhere. |

I'm using wireless and my first attempt failed. Second attempt is underway now and is super slow, little over 3 hours left on it. If this doesn't work I'll have to delete and uninstall and I guess run a 100 foot ethernet cable to the PS3 but I hope it doesn't come to that. |

Are you 100 feet from your router (meaning it's probably a very poor wireless signal, and you're lucky it doesn't cut out more often) or just on opposite sides of a 50 foot wall (which might potentially also be causing signal loss)? Either way, you should probably reconsider the positioning of your electronics. |

I've tried about 10 times now ... I see nothing after the "Update data found ... Ok to log in and download" screen just goes blank when I press Ok and console resets after 10 secs or so.
Ohh wait ... 11th try is the charm (apparently) lol ... downloading now ... 52 mins left :-) but bed time in an hour :-(
I suggest just keep trying it.
See you all tomorrow ... good luck. |

Redownloading is the best option It's faster than I thought btw never thought I would get replied that fast thanks for the awesome support. I was litteraly mad today , surely you can understand , have been waiting for roughly 2 months:D I own with AR more than I did in codes (when they were OP) fav build so far like the name, the login theme UI improvements , colors but HATE ADS IN MY MQ D: |

Not that far because I'm on the second floor. The path the cable would have to run is about 100 feet but I'm much closer than that. I usually get about 90% signal strength and honestly I don't think I've ever lost the connection. Hard to tell because our internet goes out here a few times a week but I don't think I've ever lost it while the wired devices still worked. I knew it was only a matter of time before the wireless thing screwed me so I guess I gotta finally get around to running that ethernet cable up here. Was not looking forward to that since there's no direct access and I'll have to snake this thing all over creation to get it where it needs to go. Going to try the update one more time and then move on to the annoying stuff. |

After two failed attempts the solution ended up being very simple: My wife was streaming some HD show on Netflix. Once that was stopped the download completed perfectly in about 80 minutes. |
