Aeon Amadi wrote:Feel free to add some more of your own (comprehensive!) questions, guys. Still have nine hours until we get to see it for ourselves =P
-Could you give some elaboration on "Reducing the damage gap"?
-Mass drivers received increase magazine size, did they also receive increase maximum ammo as well?
-Could you elaborate "made damage pass on all turrets"?
-Difference between the Light Assault Rifle (Fanfest 2009 rifle speculation?) and the Gallente Assault Rifle?
-Update(s) on CCP Wolfman's "new suits" mentioned in Codex?
-Will we see the new weapons, I.E: Plasma Cannon, Flaylock Pistol and/or Scrambler Rifle in Chromosome?
-Update(s) on the Crusader/Pilot suits?
-Update(s) on Scout strafe speed?
-"Combined Cardiac Regulator and Cardiac Stimulant modules into one module type." Any updates on the skill requirement(s)?
-Update(s) on Selling Salvage/Player Market?
Here are some answers to the questions above.
- This is a reduction on the amount of damage done by weapons in the same class. Previously, the difference in damage output was very wide depending on the meta level of the weapon and we wanted to narrow that.
- The increase in max ammo values for mass drivers are: Mass Driver=18, Breach Mass Driver=18, and Assault Mass Driver=24.
- We re-evaluated the turrets and adjusted damage amounts and dispersion and blast radius of large and small missile turrets.
- The light assault rifle and Gallente assault rifle are the same, just a change in terminology.
- New dropsuits will appear on the PSN store/market soon as vanity items.
- Weapons like the Plasma Cannon and Flaylock Pistol will be making their debut in another update.
- The Vigor skill is still required by the Cardiac Regulator/Stimulant module. The two modules are now merged into one.
- The seconday market will be introduced in a future update.

No skill reset for the Chromosome update. But expect one when we migrate DUST to the TQ server. |

Piercing Serenity wrote:Will we be reimbursed for AUR and Skill Booster that have been used during Codex?
PSN: PiercingSerenity Country: US Class: Assault Corp: Pink.Fluffy.Bunnies. [PFBHz]
Yes, it will be the same as previous resets we've had in the closed beta, you will be reimbursed on AUR spent. |

FTwelve wrote:So all sniper rifles will need to be charged to shoot? I was happy with the current sniper rifle mechanics. No one used the charge sniper rifle because you get less kills with it, I wonder if that's the reason for this implementation.
Actually no. We want more fire mode variations for the sniper rilfe and the "charge" feature did not make it in to the Chromosome update. This has been updated in the patch notes sticky. Thanks. |

Cyn Bruin wrote:CCP Cmdr Wang wrote:Please bear in mind that a reset will not occure with the Chromosome update today. Howdy Cmdr Wang, Any chance with this update today we will see the Weekly SP reset be adjusted to the schedule it was supposed to be on? As of right now it resets every Wednesday, whereas in the notes explaining the Weekly SP, it says it resets every Tuesday. Last question. We asked awhile back about this Weekly SP cap and were informed it might be adjusted to Daily SP cap "soon", any update on the SP system?
Correct, with the Chromosome update, the SP cap will be changed to daily instead of a weekly cap. The daily SP cap will be reset during each day's DT. |

Edit: On a side note am I the only one wondering why Cmdr Wang chose such a name? His actual name is Phil Wang, if I'm not mistaken. It's the same as me calling myself "Lieutenant Myers". You spelt "Amadi" very wrong. Also, I think we need more clarification. We ARE getting all our gear and AUR returned, but there isn't a reset? Does this mean we lose all our gear like we would with a reset? Or just that we get AUR back AND keep all our stuff?
Since we are not resetting today players will not be reimbursed today. When we do a reset at a later time, players will get their AUR and gift items from events reimbursed in the same manner as last time. |

Lion Redstar wrote:With the daily skill cap, will the unused SP from one or more days gonna report to the next day?
Not currently, the unspent SP don't accumulate, except passive SP. The SP cap is only for active SP gained from matches. |

You will see a notification when you reach it. I'll not spoil the surprise. |

With Chromosome out, we the finalists of the Tourney be getting their rewards from their performances? And what about the Quafe suites?
Both event rewards should be out this week. |

Laurent Cazaderon wrote:Garrett Blacknova wrote:I'd like to see a daily "diminishing returns" effect, but one which works gradually, not hitting players hard, and with smaller modifiers being applied the longer you play - basically like a "stacking penalty" on the negative modifiers for long-term play.
There should also be a weekly "hard" cap on SP earnings, preferably with a series of thresholds that provide negative modifiers as well.
That would mean that people with only a day or two of playtime could grind for several hours and still be reasonably expected to keep up with the daily players who have a similar amount of total playtime.
To integrate the above restrictions into a coherent form, only the higher of the two applicable modifiers should be used. If you have a -100% modifier from hitting the weekly SP cap, you shouldn't have the daily modifier counted as well, because that will mean you lose SP for playing, and that's a terrible idea.
More importantly than this change, though, is that I want MORE TRANSPARENCY in the SP system. We need a way to see the following details:
1. Base SP earned (possibly with a further breakdown of SP from kills, SP from objectives and SP from destruction) 2. Booster modifier (if applicable, possibly with an ad for "you could have bought a booster for X AUR and got this bonus") 3. Currently-active diminishing returns modifier
Point 3 is the key thing we're not being told. Show players what our limits are, what's happening to "our" SP when we go into a match, so we aren't coming here and screaming "you stole my SP, stupid hard cap" or similar, less-polite reactions. Posted something in another thread about sp that kinda sounds like this as well. Mix of a weekly (why not even monthly) and daily cap ? Also had an interesting talk on IRC with other players about cool ideas. Anyway, only sur thing i can add is what CCP_Praetorian tweeted me yesterday : "We want to ensure that players progress (sp) similar if they started at the same time. "https://twitter.com/CCP_Praetorian/status/281403441752977409
We do plan to improve the SP cap system with future iterations that will be more sophisticated than the current daily SP cap. Thanks for all the suggestions and time spent in testing this system. The difference in opinon on whether a weekly or daily SP cap seems to be based on player preference and play style, and we will find a system that can best accomodate both and retain balance. |
