This is how it should work instead of just laying there:
As you fall, you have a chance of holding onto your gun, unless you are blown back by a strong enough force (vehicle hitting you, shotgun, explosion, etc.) in which your gun is blown out of your hand/, in which the gun will come out of your hands. Sidearms have the lowest, light have the medium, and heavy have the hihgest. Once your down, unless you are shot, you have the choice of pulling out a sidearm, or pretending to be dead and waiting for someone to come to you.
If you choose to pull out a side arm, you will be able to crawl on your back like in the co-op from BF3, and fire your sidearm, but it will have less accuracy, and more recoil.
If you choose to pretend that your dead, or you don't have a sidearm, you be how it is now. There are some changes though: Instead of actual dead bodies disappearing instantly, they disappear after about 15 seconds. To make active scanners have a use, it can scan bodies to show if the body is still alive. Profile dampeners will negate this as well. And to help those dum... I'm sorry, confused nanite injector carriers that we're still alive, a health signal and our sheilds/armor will appear on the screen blinking, and if not in line of sight, it will show a arrow pointing towards the body if they are within range (also, for the people who combat medic, it shows the medic cross over their heads if they've taken damage.).
Discuss
EDIT: If you choose to crawl, and crawl into a repair nanohive, then it revives you, and the person who threw it out (other than yourself) gets revive WP |

+1
Also,
Why couldn't we have med kits. But instead of them working like they do in BF3, they would just be laid out by players on the field. Then when you are shot and have a chance to crawl back, you could crawl to one of the med kits and revive yourself. Unless a nanite player gets to you first or you get shot again.
Just a thought. |

Or we could crawl into one of those repair nanohives. Going to edit, and add that |

O no, It's just that we already have medkits, because we have nanohives and repair tools. Sorry, that came out wrong |

I'm sorry to disagree with you here.
When you go down, it wasn't because of some scratch. You lost your armor and then got hit with either plasma (really really hot) or an extremely fast rail gun projectile or a laser and stuff like that. That's going to do severe tissue and nerve damage. There's no way you're moving a muscle until some super-tech medicine is applied. If you weren't already a super clone, you couldn't even get revived after a hit like that. If you are still strong enough to use a weapon, then you are up on the battlefield shooting lethal stuff, not laying down like a stranded turtle.
If you're conscious, you're fighting. If you're unconscious, (that flashing black and white mode before you die with the heartbeat), you shouldn't be able to crawl to a nanohive or use a weapon. If you're dead, then you are like one of those dissolving bodies we see.
We can only "see" when we're unconscious for entertainment purposes (I should believe). It'd be pretty stupid if the screen went black and weren't able to enjoy anything while we slowly die.
That's just my logic and reasoning. |

I disagree big time with this. People shooting you after you have killed them is utterly ridiculous. I support the ability for a downed team-mate to look around him and nothing else. |

Last Stand is one of the worst things about CoD, and in no way would I endorse anything similar in Dust. No way should you ever get revived out of it from a repairing nanohive either. You'd be invincible unless headshot or blown up if you just stood on one. |
