I don't know if this came up before (I didn't found a similar topic with the search function).
I would love to have a skill that increases the Dropsuitespeed. I would suggest to alter the mobility skill or the specialized Dropsuitskills for this. |

How about the mobility skill increases sprint speed, since it unlocks sprint modules.
We could also get a new skill to raise base speed, call it Drop Suit Maneuvering maybe?
We could also have a skill to reduce mass 5% per level, and add acceleration to speed rather then having it increase as quickly as it does now. Call the skill Drop Suit Weight Reduction maybe, it could also unlock drop suit nanofiber mods. |

The mobility skill was my first thought as well, but maybe the Dropsuit Skill fits better in terms of balance... |

they do have a skill to increase speed but because it would be a must in the beginning to get it, as in "you are a moron if you don't skill me up first" it seems kind of redundant if everyone gets it.
kind of like the old training skills in eve that practically forced you to train for a half a year before you got to train anything else. |

Changing the speed people move at changes the whole infantry game quite a lot. Speed isn't something you screw with. However fast people are running around at now, that's the tempo they want for the game. If they wanted a faster paced game, they'd have made people run faster. |

If you wanna run faster, train up the skill that lets you use sprint speed biotics mods, doesn't raise speed tremendously but it helps and if you really want to get around fast get a LAV. |

If you want to move fast use a scout or a assult Type 2, b or Vk1, any increase in speed by skill would be too much of a nessesity as it is now a scout that knows what its doing is harder to kill than a heavy because of movement speed, speed is something that is too easy for a good player to exploit and if there is a skill to increase it it would likly be increased on total of a 10 to 20% area which would be a big increase making scouts unhittable and would lead to the fustration found in previous builds |

You have some good points here.
Hmm so if they do it the increase should be a max of 10% (on level 5) with a rather expensive skill (at least 3x) and maybe make mobility level 5 a prerequisit. So you have to choose if you skip other skills for speed. I know on the long term most of us will max out this skill but this is true for all skills.
Another option could be a small speed increase with the last (level 5) special (assault, heavy etc.) dropsuitskill. |
