how much money have you guys made in total off dust 514 so far based on microtransactions?
folks have been spending during the closed beta so i'm curious, how much have you guys pulled down so far off the beta?
seems like a legit question which shouldn't really fall under the secret info catagory.

why would the profit made off a beta be secret when the profit made off retail isn't?
i think it's a legit question.
i've seen a few flyers about this game now, promo stuff, and to me, that stuff sure does look a lot like retail and every single promo piece also includes sales promotions. which in re:pre order would be meh, but ok. kinda.
but we're talking about a beta now. a closed beta. folks are paying to play a closed beta?
ehhhhhh... not sure about that one.
and it's becoming a trend on pcs as well. so i'm thinking if they are going to run betas now that really, let's be honest, semi working retail versions, then i think once they start accepting money, they should probably disclose how much they are making.
i think it would be an interesting indicator of a couple things:
1. how successful the beta is in terms of profit
2. how successful or bad the retail version is compared to beta profits.
will the beta profits be a part of the numbers used when the total profits for the game are released later?
or do they only count the "profits" as money made from the time the game goes public and is open to the public?

i'd just like to see some transparency on this thing.
it's one thing to run around pimping when you are doing your beta... as long as you aren't making money off it.
but the minute you start accepting real world cash, it's not really a beta anymore, it's a broken retail.
so c'mon CCP?
do a post,, thread, blog, whatever...
come clean with your sales numbers as of late?
nothing wrong with telling the folks who you are making money off of
just how much you made so far?
why no response from the devs nor mods?

so i'm asking how much the company has made off of microtransactions from a game that isn't even on the market yet.

oh screw all that.
this is a beta test of a video game.
there is no "secret" information here. it's an easy question. shouldn't be that big a deal to answer.
and it's valid in relation to the games success or failure. they are asking us for beta feedback.
i don't think us asking em about earnings is that big a deal.

if you mean "me" as in me asking ccp about their earnings regarding a closed beta... which y'know back in the day companies didn't charge people money to test their games, i didn't think that was too outta line.
if you mean them asking me... that's a kinda legit spin on my question, im not effended.
not like they woulda believed my answer, so i'll just stick to the question as it stands:
how much has 514 pulled down in cash since it's become active?
not sure why this is a "bad" question.
even a rough number would be appreciated. over 100k? 200k? less then 50k?

signifies how "successful" it is both economically and in terms of population.
if the game is doing well, shouldn't be that big a deal to talk about it.
i figure if im putting some time into their build for free, they can at least come out with some stuff that adults care about.
i guess you kids are focused on when you are gonna be able to farm points or get your pink armor?
c'mon CCP?
kick out some real data.
