Think about it. Shields 125 armor 175. The shields get peeled away, which are there to protect the armor. Once the shields hit 0 the armor is exposed to direct damage. Armor protects flesh and you vital organs, once the armor is gone you are exposed.

At 0 armor and shields you are a human in a jumpsuit. Your organs are going to be exposed to the raw projectile force of whatever weapon decides to consume you. At 0 armor the armor is no longer there, does not mean your heart stops beating. That may be why 0 armor exists. At 0 you still have to land that final blow on the organs. Makes sense to me.

Suits are so heavy that they lose power at 0 armor rating.

Remember these points are an arbitrarily measured system to make it understandable for users of weapon systems. As systems get better the amounst adjust or the weapons get more effective against that certain weapon system or armor improving reducing its effectiveness.

Overall path to patch its an arms race.

The weird thing is, HAVs (and dropships) get destroyed at 0 armor, regardless of shields, while dropsuits and LAVs are fine with 0 armor.

Not exactly, I've lived with 0 armor in a HAV.

ccp like running things to a ******** number of decimals so it could actually be like 0.0000001 armor as well

This is the probably answer. Just because your HUD displays 0 as your armor HP doesn't mean you have exactly 0 armor. You might have 0.3 armor, for instance.

The OP was kinda creative in a way, though.

Time when you got 0 at armor and you live... hardly ever happen. (damage you sustain is equal to armor you got at the moment)
Most of time you got about few point of armor hitted with dmg about 20 and more... so your body get direct dmg and cant stand it putting you on the sleep.

burning vehicles are capable in surviving a short period off time. i know about it cause i had this allready with tanks, dropships and LAV's. Its the last chance to save your vehicle with a repair tool but if some 1 just fires 1 AR bullet at a vehicle with 0 armor it blows up instantly.
