I know dust is still in beta form but i feel like the game lacks the action packed battles that are promised. I was excited to see the corporation aspect of the game and it was a 2 on 10 battle. I was thinking if there could be AI bots that you can buy. (I.E) you deploy into the battle and you call in a drop ship full of clones under your command and they follow you and defend spots you choose. And if you have enough ISK you can call in a couple of HAV and have them operate it and defend an objective. This would correlate with the drone aspect of EVE online... The ability to control a squad of 6 or 10 would make the battle a lot more intense like the battles that are shown on the videos. |

What if the players' role as Mercenaries was more elite, such as sending squad commands to rookie soldiers on your team? What if there was a Player vs Environment suite, where a team of players is pitted against an AI opponent? Two teams vs AI? |

Let's make Dust 514 a RTS instead of a FPS.
Coincidentally, CCP thought of making a RTS before deciding on a FPS. At least from one of the videos I watched that was said. |

But if they had done that then the only ones playing it or even using it would have been current EvE players. RTSers are even more fickle then FPSers.

Come to think about it, the Maps' design resembles an RTS with heavy influence. What other type of sandbox-style FPS has you running around aimlessly in open terrain?
Another thing, sandboxes usually don't market well as FPS or TPS. |

Yeah i feel myself running aimlessly for 5 minutes just to get to some action. |

You could hire a bunch of 'mortal' NPCs, sorta like Carriers in EVE that have NPC controlled fighters. |

What about adding civilians? Defenders have to escort as many as possible to safety. Attackers however receive no actual bonus for civilian kills.
What about NPC Mech units? Quadruped turrets that trudge along slowly, like a walking tank. Kind of like an orbital strike reward. Gets dropped from orbit for one squad leader. Squad leader is able to give it commands and set waypoints. |
