So the new game modes we just got are great, but seem somewhat vanilla to me, so I thought up a few ideas that would be very interesting/ very different.
Last Man/Team Standing-
Each player only has one life, free for all/ team.
Extraction-
Free for all. Every player starts out with an extraction pod. Hidden around the map are salvage caches each containing one or more items of randomly determined salvage. If you kill a player, they drop all their salvage. At any point you can return to your extraction pod and exit the game, taking with you all the salvage you collected. Extraction Pods can be hacked, but can't be destroyed. If your pod is hacked you must hack it back or find another to hack. There is no SP or ISK awarded for this, only salvage.

how do these fit in lore wise, and aren't just "a new game mode"
Whats the basis for this scenario? New Eden isn't an arcade shooter, its not just gonna have mercs battling it out randomly over a flag for some random reason. (outside of gladiator arenas) |

As far as lore goes, I don't see how extraction doesn't work.
Salvaging can sometimes get up to half as violent as black friday. |

For 'last man standing', it's pretty obvious: clones aren't available due to supply line problems. |

After battles are over there is a ton of salvageable debris since mercs in game mode have time to loot them. A number of mercs have started making a business of looting battlefields after major battles have been fought, but competition is tough and deadly. |

Or the salvaging could end up alot like Hoth in SW:TOR. A ton of crashed eve ships lying around from battles over the planets, and a bunch of corps are fighting to be the ones to salvage everything useful from them. |

Aren't EVE ships worth a few million apiece? That (plus cargo) could be worthwhile to mercs used to making about 100k per battle. |

The salvage idea is a good beause it can fit into the idea of benifiting a corp or faction for extra incentive and reward to be distributed to its mercs.
Extaction could be a gametype where a team would have to extract a powerful weapon from a planet for a corp in eve to be used in either eve or dust for future battles. For example like a emp bomb to be called in from eve assuming in an earlier battle they obtained it. Just an idea. |
