One day when eve and dust develop more and become more integrated. The day when us dust players can free roam planets. You and a couple of your buddies can just hop into a drop ship and fly around the planet and explore. You can fly right up to a battle and join in, or you can sit back and watch because your not getting payed. A day when you don't need to start a match to find a battle * will still have the option to do it but we wont NEED to do it *. You could just roam into enemy turf and just shoot up the place. A day when battles can happen in real time with no prompt or explanation. A day when you could hop aboard an eve players ship and fly through the stars. A day when you can go to a space station with that eve player and go to a space club. A day when you can get space ladies from that space club. A day when you can experience the beauties or hellish nightmares of each planet. A day where you can basketball on the moon. A day when you can log in but don't have to fight. A day where you could just log in and chill at a station and talk with other people.
CCP please, don't stop at just an fps and mmo. These two games together have enough people, lore, and space to be more than just an fps and mmo. The eve universe has so much potential that not only could it be the best gameing thing of our generation. It could be the best gameing thing... ever. The eve universe can be much more then 3 genres. It could be all of the genres!
If the eve universe can become this magnificint thing. I honestly will play this game for the rest of my life.
But sadly, this work of beauty has not benn created yet. So i will just sit here in the bliss of my imagination and wait for that day to come.
Wont you join me? |

I think everything you want already exists its called Second Life and PS Home. Also mini games usually ruin a game completely and get blasted by critics for useless or time not well spent in development of a game. A video game should not be your alternative to a vacation , planet earth is vast and filled with bars and clubs to meet earth ladies and doesn't take computer coding that can be used to improve the battlefield. |

Second life and ps home suck. An open world game where I can talk with my friends then go and shoot people is what I would like to see.
You also missed the point of this thread. This thread is supposed to be about imagining the eve universe becomeing that perfect game That has just about everything. And did I ever say anything about mini games? No, I don't think I did. The bar and club stuff was there just to be silly. |

basketball on the moon is not a mini game???
hitting space station bar and clubs and hitting on space ladies is not PS Home and Second life???
You can talk to you friends in dust right now and im sure you have a smart phone?
How much processing will it take for you to go on a joy ride with 3 people and maintain processing a huge battle??? at least if were in the same battle processing and information can be split between the players and server like a torrent.
What you are saying is so far from being able to be done , like 20 years. A post like this will just end in a crappy basketball mini game in Dust or a pointless bar like Mass Effect after the quests are done. Dreams are great but it really depends on what the main goal of the game is at the moment. since its in development. for this year |

I don't know, we about to go into another big tech boom. Gaming and entertainment more specifically are really picking up. Still a ways off, but not 20 years. In about a decade we going to have a lot of fun stuff to play with, if the economy can keep up. Was looking at this show the other day where in 10-15 years they going to have a paint perfected that people can have their new homes painted in, that will be basically a huge tv all around your house, able to change the color scheme, watch t.v , play games, make a **** and live feed it through.. endless possibilities it looked so fkn sweet , wish it was here now :\ |

usually all those shows are prediction on the basis that we update what we have now , but in reality we tend to shift focus to something else.
examples:
the 50`s was a very gadget heavy era with washer machines, blenders, and coffee makers. So there prediction was more of a gadget world where you have multiple buttons.
Instead the focused changed to I want to use one device to do everything and only hit one button.
Right now they are predicting LCD everything , wall paper, tattoos , and clothes but the focus is starting to change to augmented reality that will do that and more.
In FPS player counts were the major prediction in the future of gaming in like 2005 with 56k modems but the focus shifted to making games look pretty instead and in 2012 player counts still hold steady at 32 players even though the tech is 10 times better.
focus should be mainly on the goal of today with a path to the future, not a need for it.

No this is not prediction, they already have the tech down.. they are finding new ways to apply it :p Like a roll up tv that you can stick in your pocket , unfold to a 15" screen and watch at your desk. And it is not LCD it's organic matter and polymers or some ****. It actually is cheaper than producing LCD , and has hopes of replacing it in the future. The clarity is not really that bad either , they have some protoypes already developed |

I want piracy in this game soo much!
Just imagine that for a long time, your corporation is building something important on the surface of planet. You are one step away from completion. Sudden long-distance scanners detect disturbing signals in your solar system. Its look like hostile fleet enter the orbit of your planet with intends to reinforce your ant-orbital bombardment shield generator in district where you are building a new ship that will allow your corporation to concur a new planet in your solar system. So your best commander is taking the greatest MCC variant of ship your corporation ever have, and ordering you to take Heavy Logistic Vessel with support of Mobile Cloning Factory, for a moment you think that your enemies will not have an easy life, then you are taking big box of torpedoes into arm and run into the cockpit. The battle is fierce, in the heat of battle someone somehow penetrates your shields. Your motion detectors indicate intruders in your cargo bay, with every second more and more red LED starts flashing in the cockpit. Before you realize what is really happening someone is threatens you with a gun if you will not turn of defence system in next 10 seconds I will kill you and turn it by my self and then immediately without waiting for your respond he start counting down 10, 9, 8.. 5.. 3 and you scream STOP! STOP!.. a few moments later the only thing you can do is watch as your ship is lost in the mist on the horizon.
the end. |

I think we need to agree to disagree at the moment on tech because we have different types of application to the same product basically.
Also Slywester that sounds great in a movie script and novel but im not sure how you could structure that in a game.
I think we have similar ideas because i thought about for some time an FPS that required first a space battle of destroying a orbital defensive position before you could begin fighting on a planet and if you failed to accomplished that you had to wait a certain amount time before you could re attack the planet. |
