* well, I guess it depends on how much of an increase your talking.. is it 10% more.. or is it 50% - double? The skill cap increase is 50%. The size of the booster, so that having a booster does not effect your cap and slow down your progress on a per game basis.
Yeh that's to much , way to much.. ccp was doing decent at keeping it somewhat balanced between payers and non paying.. it just shifted heavily into the p2w corner with that announcement. The booster already gives us a nice lead, now it will double that lead. |

Sentient Archon wrote:Just get the Merc Pack every month. It has a 30 day booster. Thats what I am doing right now. Got around 320000 Aur in da bank. Some of which is in passive boosters. Dont have to play every day any more.
It has nothing to do with not being able to get aurum, I use aurum. I feel this will drastically decrease potential numbers for Dust if they allow pretty much a double cap for booster users. And people will not pay 20 bucks a month every month for this game.. aur doesn't move that easily, it will accumulate and people will not buy as much further down the road ( ofc there is always exceptions, but they are not the avg joe ) . I think ccp is going about this entirely wrong, I'm guessing this is due to the decrease in sales of the 7 day booster and they realize less is being spent each week which = less aur being purchased.. they are going about it all wrong for fixing that issue |

Sentient Archon wrote:Meh. I wouldnt worry too much about this. If CCP implements noob zones we will be fine. The only people that actually crib about AUR and skill caps are the ones that really need to improve their games.
Just my 0.02 Active Booster.
I hear you on that, what is worrying me about it though is sustainability for this game over time.. they want years of life for it. not just a quick play for a few months and make a new title next year. If you give the booster side to much of a lead, they can max out and become more effective then the majority of people who will be playing.. it will turn alot of people down from the game. I just really don't want to see this game drop to a couple thousand dedicated payers and a few scrubs by the end of first year. I want it to attract and keep people playing for years, so that I can enjoy it and keep playing for years. The amount of skillpoints earned each week does not really bother me to much, it's the deminishing and not earning any that does. They need to do alot of real thinking on a way to evenly spread gameplay enjoyment and rewards throughout the entire week. Extending it just for paying people is not the right solution, it is going backwards imo.
I have several ideas on how they could, but this isn't the thread for it and I'm not even really going to waste giving ideas for improvement to blind eyes and hungry trolls anymore. This however isn't requesting a change, it is discussing how this change could be bad, and how I feel more thought should be put into it. |

Pay 2 Win
We need to get the community together in a thread and sort this stupid SP cap business out.
I agree, there have been quite a few good ideas tossed around. it's time for a real sit down between the players and ccp , and then ccp alone themselves to figure out what we can do to make us keep playing everyday, getting rewarded, yet not flying through the game in 2 months and picking up another title |

HECATONCHIRES GYGES wrote:Hes right doesnt take 7 days to achieve the current 500k sp cap. With or without it.I have an alt and its still can be done without the boosters. The current system with the skill booster and using a 7 day booster, weekly makes no sense at all.It after all does not take 7 days of constant game play without the booster to achieve this. With the booster on, to achieve this(the current cap) it takes 1 maybe 2 days to max out.Making the other 5 days of the skill booster useless.Solution buy a 3 day.Ok still getting it done on a friday night.2 days wasted off the 3 day booster.Mow on the other hand I want to play as much as possible but why should I?After all Ive already maxd out so Im just spending AUR (weapons and items) to do what?Make ISK?Get some kills?Loose ISK?Not loose ISK(use MLT BPO's).Therefore get my ass kicked and decrease my KDR.Problem? yes problem.I dont need to play your game right now so Im not playing your game at all.Does that make sense?Im gonnna take a stretch here and say that game developers want people to play there game and play it as much as they want. With the argument of pay2 win all I have to do is laugh. If when any FPS game that has been produced in the last decade you dont want to buy expansions(DLC) you dont have too.But you wont be playing those maps or that part of the game (weapons/maps)at all.So this pay2 win nonsense is ...ridiculous. Its not like CCP is doing or would be doing anything that any other FPS game developer has been doing for years, as far as what you refer to as pay2 win aspect of the game. Whats that all mean?30 day skill booster is really only needed for 4 days - 96/hrs worth of game play.I also find it interesting that the EVE players are the ones that are the most opposed to anything in this game whether items or SP gain(in this case) which may or maynot have the potential for the pS3 player to have some say in it(the beta/finished product).I also find it funny that these same EVE individuals dont realize that "they" are going to have to try and play 2 games but wont have the time to do both. With organizing your corp, training, maintaining your website of your corp, playing EVE,kids ,laundry, job, taking a shower...lol. See what Im getting at?So why are you opposed to the idea of passive sp gain when thats what your gonna need to try and do both at once and how its done in EVE. EVE players pay subs I dont get why EVE players are always the first to scream pay 2 win....When they know damn well that they are going to do transfers at the first available opportunity that they can.To there DUST corps(they already have)and there is nothing wrong with that.Per se.You play EVE,you make ISK,you move it over here. You pay a sub.P2W.......Problem with that scenerio is once you achieve the SP ability for your DUST merc to wear proto (they always will be.The transferring EVE player) so this what will "the poor New people do"? "theyll get there butts kicked, and quit" argument gets thrown out the window. Long story short. We both need SP. The marathon player, the weekend warrior, the EVE player with alts ,and definitely the new guy....the only person that wont is the non dedicated player...so why should we be concerned with that individual.CCP is just being TOTALLY COOL and giving us a more bang for our buck. seriously guy? Clearly you did not read a thing correctly.. as I never called anyone a troll, and never said was in fear of being trolled, and you sir yourself say I can't have an adult discussion but you can't help but point your fingers like a little kid and try to stir some **** in the same scentence.. funny guy you are |

what do you mean it wasn't working.. pretty sure when I earned 10k sp, I got 15k sp after with booster :\ what was not working? The fact that 7 days didn't work because people hit a cap? A fix to that is not to increase only paying peoples cap even further.. Or am I missing something and your saying something along the lines of the booster didn't allow us to exceed the cap it only got us there faster? As far as I knew we were getting 500k with no booster and 750k with, it seemed to be working that way to me, but if that wasn't the case and this is a temporary fix to solve that.. then maybe I understand now |
