Firstly thanks for letting us test the game. Overall, I feel the game has a lot of possibility, however there's some things I'm just not fond of in the game.
Most of my experience has been with Ambush so thats what I'm commenting on here.
- The games feel way too short. All too often, I get into a game with only 2 minutes or so left which is longer than it took me to get into the game in the first place. I think the game length should be doubled (resources and time limit).
- The spawn system is beyond frustrating. It feels like the system perfectly places you in front of an enemy (with your back to them) more than half the time. For a system where each death costs me quite a bit of money, this seems like a huge oversight
- Uplink has the same problems at times. If one team is dominating, an uplink is a death trap - or more like lambs to the slaughter. The other team can just camp it since everyone is forced to spawn there. Makes for easy kills. Seems like we should be able to choose where to spawn from (or have at least 1 default spawn point option come up other than an uplink)
- Assault rifles and HMGs is about all everyone uses and for good reason - they are the best weapons. The ARs are just far too accurate, shoot too far, and do too much damage.
- SMGs are flat out horrible. I can dump a full clip into a guy wearing heavy armor and he just laughs. Seriously, they do no damage. And the close range they require? I'd be better off with a shotgun or AR.
- I didn't use pistols much but they seem horrible too. Its like having a sniper rifle that doesn't shoot far and doesn't do enough damage. It seems like they should do a bit more damage and have a faster reload
- There should probably be a bit of a delay when exiting a vehicle and being able to fire a weapon. I watched a guy with an HMG that was driving a quad around, jumping out right next to people, wiping them out quickly, then getting back in and doing it all over. It was a very effective sniping method of picking off people that respawned and short of getting people together to gang up and kill one guy, there's not an easy way to stop it
- AV grenades seldom hit the target unless its not moving. They simply don't have enough range. My guy can throw the grenade like 30 feet, which seems far too short a range. I know there are AV grenades with longer range but the range on these are just far too short. Honestly, they're completely worthless.
- I think you should be able to carry 2 of whatever weapon (different ammo types) with an ammo penalty on the "sidearm". Maybe only half of max ammo that you would normally carry with that weapon as a primary That or make just the anti-vehicular weapons able to be sidearmed. Its highly frustrating to spend time (which is already highly limited in Ambush) running to a spot to change out. Or if you are lucky like me and keep getting completely crap teams, you have to die, switch gear, kill the tanks, then die again to switch back.
Overall, I like the concept of having to pay for gear so that it makes me not be reckless, however I have to say that, in my opinion, this concept just falls flat. Where it falls flat is playing with others. We play to get better stuff and to kill people. However, when you pull a random team that is complete crap, its not hard to die upwards of 10 times in a 15 minute match, especially with how the spawn system works.
So there's two options here. Wear cheap/crap gear so that when I die, it doesn't cost me as much. Or go hide in a corner and not die again.
Well, I can wear cheap gear but then I'm not going to be as good as others on the other team and that just makes the disparity that much more apparent. Not only that, but it completely defeats the purpose of getting better gear. I mean why spend money on getting nice stuff only to not want to use it?
I think once people realize how much money they are losing on each death as they upgrade gear, they are going to start AFKing in remote areas of maps to avoid dying and losing more money in landslide games. I can understand the mentality of it because I've looked at the scoreboard and seen it 20-70 and think "why waste more money by going out there?"
I don't think its fun to have all this shiny gear that I can't use any time my team is losing badly (which is probably like 85% of the time right now).
I'm not sure I have a solution to it, but I think it is going to be a problem. I can sit mostly AFK in a game and make more money than if I am out trying to help my team. Or I can swap to crap gear and not be my best. Neither way seems very fun to me and neither is conducive to team play. |

You're actually never forced to spawn at an uplink. In ambush, when an uplink is out, or a CRU is captured, your default (random) spawn moves to the square button. People farm uplinks/CRUs for spawn kills because a lot of people seem to not realize that, and they just keep mashing x to spawn, which is now the targeted spawn at the uplink/CRU.
Also, pistols are pretty damaging, especially with some SP investment. They get something stupid like a 4x headshot bonus, which will oneshot many low to mid-level suits.
AV nades are kinda broken right now, because there was a somewhat backwards fix implemented to stop unintended behavior with them (it was all they could do without a change to the code which would require a patch, should be better next build). |

There may be a bug with uplinks at times then. I know that the last game I played I had only the option to spawn at the uplink (or at least only the X option came up).

I don't see the point in investing SP though. Seems like points would be better spent elsewhere. I tried using one and found it very hard to hit moving targets with it at all. I don't think I ever scored a kill with one, despite trying. I was able to get a few kills with SMGs at least. |
