On a disconnect, it's gone. It doesn't matter if it survives the match. Heck, in one instance I manged to get back in the same match and repilot my own vehicle and it was still not returned at the end of the match,

It would be a good way to "earn" assets in the field if you can manage it... Tankjacking for profit anyone? Might help with retaining corp assets as well. Thanks for the info DZ.

Vs how often do legitimate disconnects happen? In any case, losing an intact asset because the server booted you is asinine. Even if they do rage quit and teammates save it somehow, they should get it back.

If a vehicle survives the match, the person driving it at the end of the match should get to keep it. Of course if you DC, or ragequit, or try to logoffski to save your vehicle, well, odds are pretty good it's gonna get blown up or stolen. Bad part of the idea is that it will promote people taking their HAV's deep into their own red zone and kill whoreing from safety - which is already a big enough problem.

Furthermore, tankers definitely didn't rage quit to save the meaningless ISK, since you have ALWAYS lost your assets when you leave the battle, through D/C or quitting out.

But I do have to give you the fact that a vehicle still around at the end of the match should be added back to your assets. IMO everything you are driving, wearing, or carrying at the end of the match should be added back into your invintory. (added back to invintory to allow theft & scavenge on the battlefield)
