I am sure this has been covered but after HOURS of searching forums I cant find a concrete answer, so ANY help would be great. I recently noticed that the federation I choose has a lot to do with how fast it takes to level certain things(am I wrong on this?) So it looks as if to level the dropsuits I want for my build it will take me much, much longer under my current federation then if I were Caldari(this sucks cause I really dont want to switch). So my question is this: If I delete my current character, will I be able to start a new one under the same name(since old is now deleted), and most importantly will all my skill points, ISK/AUR, and unlocks be available for my new character?? PLEASE any help would be great, as stated before I cant get a solid answer and dont want to delete if I still have to wait for a wipe. Thanks |

The race of your toon doesn't effect your income. So if your gallente you don't have to train gallente weapons, suits, and vehicles you can go caldari. Skills have modifiers x1 being the easiest skills to train and increase exponentially for each modifier. 8x is a really long skill train requiring 1.2-2m to train to 5 iirc.
If you feel like you have to start over with a new toon NONE of your stuff transfers over not even the name. Your AUR is account based so it stays with you. |

Thank you. So I guess now my only question would be: is it easier for me to train caldari drop suits as that race or is that what your saying its the same no matter my race? Thanks again for the help! |

It's your starting class, not race, that effects your starting skills.
Aside from the skills you start with training remains the same regardless of race/skill. My advice is choose the federation/race you most want, and then train the skills you'd like. In the end you won't be losing out. :)

You choose your race only for role-playing reasons. If CCP gets an EVE style character avatar generator into DUST then it'll affect your appearance options. If they also get all racial equipment variants done then it'll probably also affect starting skills.
After character creation it has zero effect, whether you are a Mercenary or a Capsuleer, including in EVE faction warfare. |
