Everyone knows that when you have a Vk.0 or a Vk.1 and the modules and know how to use them properly, you have an automatic advantage over anyone in a lesser suit. Which is at least 90% of everyone else on the field in most cases.
Everyone knows that when one of the top players goes 20-0 in a starter fit, they're showing everyone that they've got serious skill.
I would like to hear what you guys think of special suits in each tier made for bragging rights. In each tier, you could buy a a special BPO starter-fit/militia suit for a few hundred thousand ISK or a couple thousand AUR. It would look unique to each tier, and wearing it would show off where your actual dropsuit level to all noobs while at the same time proving to all that you have the skill to drop them in a completely weak suit.
This would give us some neat new looking suits without affecting game balance, and give us some more appearance options without having to completely redesign each suit for each race yet. Just different palates for a militia suit that you can buy in each tier, totally optional, only there for those who love to show off their skill.
Well? Is it to irrelevant, or do you guys think it's worth it? I know for a fact I would buy them, I never use a suit above a type 2 because it's WAY more fun to stomp people in inferior gear. And since I've decided to not use any suit above a type 2, I have lots of SP to spend on other things I normally wouldn't get to. This would give me an incentive to invest in these upper tier fits even if it's useless from a practical standpoint.
Despite being useless from a practical standpoint, I'm sure there will be plenty of people out there who would buy them. And a simple palate swap for a couple thousand AUR is a easy way for CCP to snag a few of those left over AURs we've still got lying around. They may never be a big seller item, but they would definately bring CCP some cash flow and give us some appearance options. |

no matter what suit you wear, no matter how expensive the tank you can't beat good tactics.
i have been in countless games where the enemy was demolishing our clones but because they couldn't cap any points we won. |

Maybe they should have suits that temporarily reduce your abilities, for extra bragging. That way everyone knows your not using all your lvl 5 proficiency skills, along with shield, armor, cpu, and powergrid bonus skills. |

i have been in countless games where the enemy was demolishing our clones but because they couldn't cap any points we won. Yep, good tactics are a winner over good gear nearly always. But, when good gear is combined with great tactics, the enemy being routed is a guarantee. Even just good tactics can nearly always guarantee victory when combined with good gear.
I'm interested to see what the balance is like after the next wipe when the mass buying of top notch gear by the supposedly accidental allowance of ISK transfer from EVE players to DUST players is gone. I'm not a great player myself so it's not that I expect to see myself rise through the ranks, but the wipe will be fun. A nice leveling of the playing field. The amount of proto suits I've come across that the operators obviously haven't fully spec'd their modules, that I've taken out with ease in my cheap suit, is unreal. The good players that have ripped me and my team apart have actually rarely been in proto. |

They have unique looking AUR standard dropsuits for each dropsuit currently, couldnt you accomplish the same thing by just wearing them? |

I would prefer ways to customize current suits, perhaps purchasable by AUR. Like, a set of 100 all black with yellow markings that you can add to a fitting changing appearance only. It also effects the dropsuit tiers differently, like Militia variant would look different than the variant applied to a proto suit.
I think a new "optional" slot should be added to loadouts, so that if that slot runs out, it doesn't remove the loadout from service but rather just indicates a missing optional item. When restocking the loadout, it would give you an option to also restock the optional item.
They used to have cumulative restocking, so you only purchased what you needed to make that loadout, instead of the way it is currently which I hope they change back in the next build... |

I have a training suit that is comprised of just a standard mass driver and nanite injector, no other modules, no grenades. It's the raven assault, Mass driver, nanite injector.
I enjoy the challenge, it's helping me develop better tactics and over all strategy to use with my other suits. |
