The #1 no skill spam missiles with a nanohive weapon has the advantage of doing crazy turns at ******** angles around any cover.
Maybe a good fix for this would be to have the militia version be dumbfire only against ground vehicles.
Maybe have a different versions that can lock onto ground vehicles after you put some skill points into swarms. But these versions would have significantly higher pg and cpu requirements or lower damage. |

The problem is that swarms are glitchy, not that they're OP.
Nerfing them is stupid. Fixing the pathing is a better idea.
Just as often as they dodge cover, they go out of their way to explod on things that aren't remotely close to being in the way. |

slap this was a discussion a while back we had on IRC with me noc eternal and skytt on how to possibly add some skill to swarms |

im glad I spec into swarms now lol slap all you have to do is get in cove thay fixed the turning thay dot follow like thay were wich suck for going aginst HAVs but Dropships cant get away as ez any more |

They have at least as many bad luck moments as good luck ones, so they're still fair enough, just glitchy and needing to be properly fixed on BOTH sides. |

Hide away in a hill, lock to your tank through cover, then pop out and jump when firing them so the missile go over the hill and eventually will avoid your cover and hit you anyways

Who is the ******* with these magical swarms which you guys dread so much, and why the hell isn't he sharing?! I've used swarms for the last couple builds and I've NEVER had my swarms or seen anyone else's do anything but either fly off at a weird angle into stuff or fly stupidly into anything between me and the target.
To be fair, if the swarms are close to you and you suddenly back up, yes they follow you around the corner. They sort of ARE supposed to be smart missiles.
I know you guys, I know your tanks, I've got a good look at how good you guys are and I've popped a few shots at those tanks myself a couple of times. Not trying to dis, but perhaps you just overestimate your skill at dodging incoming fire or there is a second swarm you don't see. I know from experience that by the time I get out my launcher, there are always 2 or 3 who beat me to it and are going for a lock on.
If you wanna nerf my ability to kill your tank, then I call for a nerf on all of your turrets. Except for the missile, that one's about right for the level of nerf I'm thinking on the other turrets. >=D |

oh, and for the QQ on swarms locking on through obsticles. This does happen, but only through certain types of obsticles and through only through a limited thickness of ground. Swarms lock onto the tanks signature, put out by it's shields. That has nothing to do with line of sight. That's why proto tanks are black ops tanks. |

As someone with experience on both sides (but MUCH more experience as Swarm AV), I can safely say that's NOT the problem being complained about.
There ARE times where a tank gets into cover BEFORE the swarms reach him, in which case the missiles USUALLY run straight into the cover and explode. Occasionally, though, they'll glitch their way around the cover, skimming across the edge of a hill or building without exploding, and slam into a tank that SHOULD have been safe.
It happens to me FAR less often than the times where my Missiles swerve into nearby buildings (and sometimes not-so-nearby buildings), but it IS a problem, and it DOES need fixing.
Also, there have been times - again, very rare - where I've been able to lock onto a target through an entire building. It doesn't happen very often, and when it happens, it doesn't generally give me a valid shot until the tank's moved past some other terrain which actually blocked line of sight, but it CAN happen.
Glitches with swarm pathing and line of sight AREN'T Swarms being OP though. They're just glitches that happen to affect how the weapon works. |

all weapons should have skill invovled to use them. Just make sure if you ask for skill to be invovled you realize that its probably not going to be a nerf. |

From what I can see, missiles are now flying directly at a target and exploding on the corners of buildings and walls. |
