I don't use tanks, I don't even like being in tanks. I just took down a Gunnlogi in 5 Advanced Forge gun shots and two Swarm missiles from a blueberry. We deserved the kill but I was thinking that Tanks could use a bit of an HP buff.
What I was thinking is that tanks could have a backup HP meter. When their shields and Armor are gone, they dip into their reserve HP but at the expense of slightly reduced mobility and having all their weapon systems go offline for a period of time. Maybe a few minutes. This would allow them to have a chance of getting away and getting back into the fight but the penalty should be severe especially since they shouldn't have gotten into that situation in the first place.
When reserves are hit, those participating in the kill get WPs as if they got the kill. |

When reserves are hit, those participating in the kill get WPs as if they got the kill. This sounds like Internals in BattleTech and MechWarrior, and that's a feature of those games I like quite a bit. Not sure if it could work here, but worth discussing certainly. |

Yeah. I think that it kind of rewards both parties. If the tank gets in a sticky situation he will have more time to retreat, though his ability to push forward is gimped for a time. Those attacking the tank get two oppertunities for victory. For the first part, they get WPs and the knowledge that they have taken the tank off the field for a time along with its support. And on the reserve HP, they get WP, taken the tank off the field, AND the knowledge that they cost the person millions in isk.

I was thinking that the most needed HP type refills half way to full or something. Kind of like overheating the systems. But either way really works. |
