When I first saw the Dust trailers a while back, I thought "Damn Son!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfT_caE1KHQ
But it's not really like that at all. Have we been mislead, or is this kind of gameplay in devolpement but just not ready? |

Dude, that is an old trailer from 2009. Things have changed in 3-4 years. Except for the second part of the video but even that is old. |

What is it about the gameplay of this trailer that you want in Dust? People are always saying the trailers look cooler, but won't say any specifics about what's in the trailer that they want. |

Notice the fluidity and realistic bobble the player receives from running, similar to KZ3. The sound effects, like the crispy sounds behind the explosions/gunfire. The way a character reacts to being shot, notice how the head shot guy had a fairly realistic downfall. Also liked how the rocket blasts affected the player's brain (ringing in the ears, vision loss). Also like the screaming deaths. The carnage really had quite a bit of smoke to it. It's these kind of realistic features that kind of make gameplay more intense, the players will be less likely to forget about it. Me and others still play KZ3 because it's got a real heavy realistic feel to it that never ceases to amaze me. It's the little things. |

Go to the feedback/requests forums, post some constructive requests about those points, and I will support it. I like these things (1 thread per idea, 1 for sounds, 1 for effects of explosives on the player, 1 for realistic movement while running, etc). It would be a good idea to link the vid, and note specific times in the video to show people what you mean exactly. If you don't want to make the threads, then I will gladly do it... though not now, I'm about to play Dishonored. |

Give it time. Rome was not built in a day. Over time we will have these things. We just have to be patient and work with CCP to improve the game as much as possible for however long it takes to get it right. |

I just wish that kind of spread for the AR was in dust right now. The AR is too accurate, and that's what's ruining it for me. |

This guy knows.
If you want to know what I want in a game watch Black Hawk Down with the surround sound turned up. It's basically an hour and a half firefight with some plot and dialogue thrown in for good measure. War **** at it's finest. The sounds in a game can make such a huge difference but are often overlooked while attention is given to eye-candy. Battlefield 3 has some real 'oomph' in the sounds and the suppression effects from suppressing fire and explosions are quite good. |

this isn't a beta, this is an alpha. I don't know why CCP is trying to pass it off as a beta. I think they wanted to release winter and were like "omg this isnt done 11!!!1!!1!!"
But yeah there is no market, no RTS view, no installations, no planet view with regional maps, the lobby is suppose to have a 3d map of the match your about to fight but it's just placeholder art.
We are missing two whole dropsuits, we only have about 30% of the weapons the game will have on release. Cloaks aren't out, you can't trade with other players, and it isn't even on real server hardware yet because the world wide battle servers aren't set up yet. I think there is only 3 battle servers? and they are planning to have like 9?

Just going to point this out as no one else has yet - the 2009 video was a build made on Carbon, CCP's much more powerful game engine. They converted to Unreal 3 for reasons unknown to me (costs? development issues? PS3 limitations?), which is a much less powerful engine. Someday we may get a Carbon build, if we hope and pray and beg enough. |

Never thought I'd say this... but I got an SSD HD, and it improved the game dramatically. They need to optimise the code on HDD data retreival (CCP said they used a special method there) so that the poor 5.400 RPM peasants can experience the same [relatively] smooth experience SSD and 7.200 RPM glorious master race users do.
So yeah, for once... It's a beta! |

yeah the graphics don't load for a while unless you have a SSD drive. But I'm sure that will get fixed :P
also why does everyone here think unreal3 is bad? Mass effect is an ugly game now? plus it'll port over to Unreal 4 super easily. The games models and art are all made at 5 million polys each. Then scaled down and normal maps are used to get detail out of the high poly sculpt. |

This game is going to be a pioneer, but with the current feel, it may lose a hold on good aspects. Spend money to make money |
