So, if you look at the market you can see a lot of modules who reduces the "suit emission" or something like that, but it doesn't work for nothing. I mean, why do you want to spend a slot in your suit, if you can be behind a wall or a mountain and the enemy won't see you. It happens. I mean, it's ok if some scout suits gets you from behind with a shotgun and kills you, because that suit have "low emission, is hard to detect it, faster, etc", but you can't see a heavy suit behind a wall or a mountain, it's normal if you get killed by some heavy suit who appears from nowhere. I don't understand that, i mean, it happens too with vehicles. You can't even see a tank behind a mountain and that's weird, i mean, a tank? tank's weight = 1000 suits? Also, a vehicle with 3 guys inside and it doesn't appear in your radar? The same with vehicles crushing you from behind. It's not bad if you get crushed by a vehicle, but why i can't see the vehicle in my radar coming from behind, like i said, it's a vehicle, with people inside. I can't understand the "detection/emission system". Because you only see in your radar, people or vehicles who are in your range of sight. But if you only see in your radar those guys, who are in your "range of sight", you don't need a radar, also you don't need to be worried about your "emission suit" or your "detection skill" because you don't need them, they don't work. Because you only will see people in your range of sight. You just need your eyes, not a radar. I think the "radar idea" need some work. I don't get the idea. |

This is how it works in most games I've played. |

Your minimap is not a radar. It is part of a TACNET (tactical network) in which the enemy appears based on line of light. Active scanners in the hands of a skilled merc can help improve it a bit, but it's still line of sight since it requires actually seeing the enemy directly in order to work. This is why you can't see heavies and tanks behind hills and mountains because you didn't see them directly and neither did anyone else in your team. Now, if someone else but you has spotted it just now, it will light up in the TACNET for everyone in the team to see even if that tank is hidden from you behind a wall or hill.
Although it does act a bit like radar, it still relies heavily on line of sight because I am able to sneak behind most mercs and get within stabbing distance of them without showing up on radar because they didn't turn around to see me and they didn't have a partner with an active scanner (which covers 360 degrees when fitted on a vehicle). |

I think LAVs should always show up on this tacnet when they are in range or they should be loud enough to be heard not silent running vehicles that only have to tap you to kill you and are quieter than than the enemy that running around. |

Even if the LAV's motor is silent we should hear the tires crunching along the ground, less on a paved road and more over open ground. They may be "Light" in relative terms, but they are heavier than a loaded pickup and when was the last time you were surprised by a pickup running down a gravel road? |
