I know how to make the Sniping situation fare and its rather simple......
Make the Sniper rifles a million Isk.Yes I said a million.Real snipers will pay this.The ones that are actually good.Like ZAN and Gem and the wanna bes wont and will get into the objectives instead of sitting in the mountains.Only a truly dedicated Sniper would pay this much.There is no risk with the current cost at all.The idea of a redline is to contain your players and keep them from pushing to sit right on top of there spawn.I understand this but the redline sniper situation is garbage.I went 16-1 with a militia sniper rifle today 9-0,12-1,13-0,24-0.....You want to know what I was wearing?MY dragonfly,MLT sniper rifle,BPO MLT nano......LOL thats bullshit.....utter absolute horse ****.Peelin Heavies,logis,Scouts,Other snipers,Assaults type 2,Proto Assault making 250k ISK a match.
This happens to me all the time(getting Sniped) I get sniped by some ***** while Im hacking A on ashland because no one else will. I put on my good fit to push the objective my whole team makes it up the hill we engage heavies dodge grenades pick each other up.Heavy forge blows up a Sica doing Overwatch on A.HMG goes down to a direct hit by a Grendae while battling an enemy HMG.Forge gets ran over by an LAV I AV "nade" the Lav.One of the Assaults jumps out (the gunner got blown up.)I take out the driver.Im the last man alive.I run to the HACK POINT and "ZAP" Hes(Sniper) up on the mountain side,behind the Redline.... While Im wearing my good gear.....hell maybe all those guys that ran with me knowing that we were Assaulting A from C.Put on there good fits....MY DUVAL COST MORE THAN HIS WHOLE FIT COMBINED.
Thought this game was about team work its hard enough to get randoms to work together.We made than run and battled hard.Just for the last man to get picked off by some *****.In real combat I would call in an Airstrike on that ******* mountainside.If it were impassable terrain.Whats more bullshit about it is we cant get to him.There is this very narrow path and you have to climb the mountain while underfire from the MMC snipers,and him and people coming out of the back spawn.THE REDLINES NEED TO BE FIXED SO THAT THE SNIPERS ARE IN BOUNDS AND YOU THE PLAYER ARE ABLE TO GET TO THEM.You do it on Ambush.WTH MAN.
Also Heavy weapons have there own Sharpshooter....the sniper rifle should not be considered a light weapon for this purpose.Make each Tier of Sniper rifle with a built in range 1-5 like sharp shooter and only protos can reach across the whole map.The Higher the Tier the farther range the increase in cost.Proto sniper rifles should be a million ISK,and there shouldnt be a militia bpo or like I said about range it should only be good for 50 meters max.
I get the "its a Railgun argument" and the projectile moves at the speed of light and there isnt going to be bullet drop in this game.So instead of screwing with all that.....there is my suggestion.with large missle turrets being completely broken now and your guys earlier nerf of railgun splash damage there is no real way to get at these people unless you pick up a sniper rifle to try and shoot them but they are already in a advantageous position and most the time you can get to them any other way OR what your telling me is I NEED TO BUY A DROP SHIP JUST FOR KILLING SNIPERS AND GET RANDOM TEAMATES TO GUN FOR ME TO TAKE THIS GUY OUT.(Not yelling just capitalizing my points is all.)So we get the guy and my drop ship gets forged,and my gunners die because they dont have mics and they dont bail out in time and I go -50 2x for both of them.....and he just respawns with his cheap ass **** and runs back up there again.
its really ******** and makes no sense at all...sorry for rambling but damn man.If the bigger issue is the back spawns.Then make the back spawn point where people can spawn in a building and dont have to worry about getting killed have the doors face backwards AWAY from the battlefield not forward.(so they cant shoot from it and no one can shoot in)and be done with it.You need to fix the redlines on Ashland.Or spikes or what ever the hell its called.

Just a couple of things, but I think the most important thing here is that the best counter to a sniper, is a sniper. Get some snipers on your team. When I snipe first people I kill: the snipers.
The forge gun does not have a sight on it like the Sniper rifle does.You cannot L1 the forge.The Forge vibrates around.The forge has less shots and can only be carried by a heavy........also there must be some risk.At this point there is none on there part.None what so ever. |

2 point) all the kills I got was with a militia BPO that cost 3 Aur
3) used a BPO Dropsuit
4) I only did this to prove a point.That a person(player)doesnt need to spend any money AUR/ISK To achieve that kdr.

11)You agree the getting in a drop ship is a viable way to kill a sniper in the Redline.Do you know how much Dropships cost? I just finished saying that a person having to spend more money than the sniper has, just so you can kill him.Is more money than he had to spend isnt it?
I dont even know why I am replying to your biased,uninformed,ridiculous position on the matter.You obviously have never achieved PROTO suit with the cost of all the modules to even know what your talking about. |

For any and all of you ***** made fools that cant read my original post was that this is TOO EZ to do and the cost and reward factor needs to be looked at,especially if the sniper is firing from out of bounds which a real war wouldnt be boundaries.You ******* tool.For the rest of you fucks. You dont think that its bullshit that every other weapon class has its own sharpshooter except sniper rifles?Its not even about that.....its about the inability to flank the sniper.....because hes behind an imaginary line that would not exists in real warfare.So that person is using that to there advantage.
As for the OS there randoms good luck with them working together most of them are newbs.
The sniper was picking people off in the scenario I described or causing damage.
Oh and for you asshat troll scrub snipers that want to talk in this thread.Ill be sure to look for your ass,merc the **** out of you and record it for when the NDA gets lifted and run it on my Youtube channel. |
