At least that's my knowledge of it, probably incomplete or too brief.
Too brief. Even a five paragraph essay is too brief to explain it. I don't even know where to begin.
1. The leaked letter titled 'Greed is Good'. 2. Overpriced Monocles that cost around 12,000 AUR (about $70 USD). 3. Incomplete captains quarters with 'the door' that never opens. 4. CCP rushing production on an incomplete expansion. 5. Nearly 2,000 subscribers walking out in a single month. It actually showed up in the Guinness Book of Records 2010 Gaming Edition for most player walk outs in the same time frame. 6. Company layoffs of over 100 staff members as a result of revenue loss. 7. A very disrespectful dev blog to the dissatisfied players that tried to justify high AUR prices with $1,000 jeans. 8. CCP breaking promises that were made including walking in stations to meet other players. 9. A poorly optimized expansion that resulted in many players seeing their graphics card literally melt inside their computer. 10. A poorly timed April Fools Day joke that came around just before the riots began in Jita, Amarr, Dodixie, and Rens. It was an email from CCP about being able to ride a segway in the halls of the stations with a pet cat that dies in your CQ if you don't feed it. 11. A highly apologetic announcement from the CEO of CCP after all this.
All this in one month. |

for dust testers of today, I remind that is OLD Aurum. that 12 000 AUR is 120 000 today's Dust AUR. see for info: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=42751&find=unread
When converted to USD, based on the price of the 40,000 aurum merc pack ($20), that equates to no less than $60. The USD amount probably gets higher if you base the conversion rate on Eve Online's Plex. |

At least that's my knowledge of it, probably incomplete or too brief. Actually that was during the Incarna riots last year. Burn Jita was set up by the Goons to destroy as much as possible in Jita. Which was quite successful at the end of it with over 1 trillion isk worth of ships, equipment and materials destroyed. CCP did not in anyway intervene even though some of the player base complained and wanted CCP to put an end to it.
Now that you mention it, I just realized what the title of the thread actually meant. I guess I got confused. Jita had really become synonymous with pure destruction. |

But it was valuable as the final piece of evidence that the large majority of players don't read the forums. Or the Dev Blogs. Or the loading screen news items. Or the pop-up message box when you log in to the game. They. Just. Don't. Read. Anything.
Evidenced further by Hulkageddon V and the Gallente ice interdiction.
Oh by the way, the next Eve expansion appears to eliminate the unscannable cargo of the Orca and thus make it visible this time. Will be interesting to see future kill reports. |
