Never been caught in a redline I couldn't break, except when I joined the game too late to be of any use.
The standard "Assault - Triage" Starter Fit can be modded into a good Uplink deployment fitting for just over 2000 ISK, or as a totally free build using 80AUR to pick up the right Militia BPOs. Don't be a predictable target, and you'll maybe - MAYBE take a couple of tries to get clear of the spawn. You can even help by starting off with a safe-zone spawn where you have ACTUAL cover against the enemy sniper. From there, wait until someone shows up, or the sniper's busy shooting another target, THEN move out while they're busy taking another shot instead of lining you up. Get clear while the sniper's killing someone else, and you can drop your Uplink in a better position. If you can't get far enough out from the main spawn, respawn on your Uplink and use it to get further for next time. Basically, "leapfrog" with your own Uplinks until you can get to a properly secure position. |

I've never had more than 3 deaths setting up a forward spawn, even when I join while my team is being spawn-camped by multiple snipers and a LOLMissile tank before the nerf. |

There is no support or guarding your newly hacked objective. Which means theyll disarm the hack or wait for it to complete and retake it for the points. Which, is a mathematical redundancy, the enemy has made more off of you then you even could have had a chance with.
Which is why you break out while setting up an Uplink, so blueberries spawn on it hand you a ton of points.
If you set it close enough to the objective, but far enough not to be obvious, it becomes a good forward spawn, and even the most clueless teams will hand you about 250 WP as well as sometimes providing some decoys for enemy attention while your hack goes through (which is another 100 WP).
And if you set up a long-distance rear spawn, then hack MULTIPLE points while blueberries spawn behind enemy lines, it tends to mess with them quite nicely. |

So you're saying that with a well-placed Uplink, you're still not going to see reinforcements from randoms?
Guess you don't get into the same pub games I do.
Even the worst team has a few people spawn on the Uplink, and if you deployed it WELL, then you've got a forward spawn and your teammates WILL have broken out by then, meaning you get to start the guerrilla action somewhere while the rest of the team charge somewhere else in a swarm of unexpected-ness.
Also, I've played a coordinated team that had a team of randoms spawn-camped. If they have all their assets spread out to secure the objectives AS WELL as spawn-camping, then they're split into more easily manageable groups, and one decent player popping up behind the camping group will usually be able to break the camp at the spawn and free up anyone still alive/spawning at the main spawn area.
If the enemy team has to be divided up to cover all bases, then you can exploit that easily enough too. Even moreso on maps with more than 3 points to control. |
