So I'm hoping (assuming) that Dust will get the same Character Creator that EVE has, allowing us to walk around without our armor on. I know that the full development roadmap hasn't been revealed, but does anyone know when/if this is scheduled to be introduced?
I'm also curious about the overall muscularity/bulk of mercs. Scouts are smaller and more nimble with heavies being at the larger end of the spectrum. It would be cool if your learned skills modifies your physic somehow. Like someone with all suits leveled up would be really muscular but also lean and not huge bulky muscles, however someone with only heavy suits would be like a football player (Gears of War). Someone with only Scouts would be smaller like a long distance runner. Someone with only Assaults would be medium and muscular.
Since Dust mercs aren't sedentary like EVE pilots, there won't be any way to add fat, and I'm assuming they'll have different clone plugs.
It would be really cool when both EVE and Dust players are all walking around in the same hangouts, to be able to noticeably see a difference between EVE pod pilots and Dust mercs just from physical features.
I'd also like to roll a character that is a ground merchant / industrial player.
Just a thought. |

(I think this would be funny not serious)
Ha, yeah I was thinking about that too, how the whole Dust clone thing works. The Dust merc's brain would need to be identical to each clone the memory is transferred into with a 1 - 1 ratio without ANY differences. For skills to transfer properly, the clone physic would also need to be identical.
One thing that I just thought of that would be pretty cool is if CCP integrated some mechanical elements to the clone's body appearance, since it's a more physically demanding requirement. Also for the skills to take for operating the dropsuits, some sort of mechanical element would need to be integrated into the clone. I wouldn't expect Dust mercs to be all mechanical, just a few hints of metal sticking out here & there, like a minimalist Deus Ex.
Think about how cool that would be, Dust & Eve mercs all hanging in the same bars, and walking into a room and being able to clearly pick out Eve pilots (some who might be overweight or skinny) and Dust mercs (who are more muscular, have hints of mechanical implants/ shiny metal spots on arms, legs & neck). Just like you can pick out the Caldari vs Amarr. |
