Who's garbage idea was it to make all guns fire BB's at a range of over 100m? That's insane!! Modern guns can reach out to 750m and more if you're an expert! So why is the Railgun the ONLY gun that can barely touch 300m at most? That's....inefficient. Either reduce the size of the boards from small cities, which I'm sure CCP isn't going to do, OR make ALL guns reach out farther. At least give the guns Call of Duty distances at worst, plaese!!! The range of these guns are absolutely pitiful!!! They hit, but do nothing at 75m+!! What?!?!!? That doesn't make sense!! Handle your light work, CCP. |

In EVE Online there are diferrent weapons with different ranges. Dust 514 take the same Idea I supose. Keep in mind that players in dust 514 wear dropsuits, wich Call of Duty's weapons shall probably only scratch. It is different game with different weapons. It is in the future. Dont compare it too much with other games. Also you are not right about ranges. I believe Missile turets on every Vehicle can reach more than 300 m. Snipers can hit over 300m too. And still we waiting for Artileries and Autocanons. Reference to infantry weapons, thank you. No reference to vehicle batteries whatsoever. Thank you for your inquiry, sir. You did outline a good point though. |

Olav Grey-Mane wrote:Their not BB's it's plasma, no I'm not plasma scientist but i'm pretty sure that when firing pure energy it will disapate after some time so I can't imagine that time being overly long, i mean you have so many variables pushing against it, wind, momentum and so much else.
I say don't use cheap weapons. If you find the GEK-38 or the GLU-5 cheap, then more power to you sir. Please make a reference to Halo, for the ideal exhibition of plasma ranges. This is just an opinion of ideal range for a FPS game. And is it me, or does this "plasma" (I already knew that it fired superheated plasma slugs, btw this isn't real life, so please don't refer to the instruction manual as how to verify an opinion, for I don't value your technicality-based argument) not act like plasma? It doesn't exhibit any real melting power, just to make that clear. One (such as myself) wants to believe that plasma hits very hard (or at least I thought it could, but I guess not) even against infantry armor. In this game, the shield can prevail against the sword, if it is swung incorrectly. This is very odd for a shooting game, just saying. |

Khal V'Rani wrote:Depending on what weapon skills and setup you're using and what shield and armor setup the target has will determine how much damage you will do. If you're using a starter fit trying to bring down a T5 heavy specifically spec'd for tanking you're going to have issues. There is also an issue with hit detection not functioning properly at times as well.
And before you flame the game and compare it to one that has done the same thing with the same engine with the same people repeatedly realize you're testing this one. CCP is aware of a great many issues and problems with the current build.
And if it's light work then submit your coding fix to them. I'm sure they would appreciate your knowledge and expertise in object oriented programming. But doesn't it feel strange having to equip a damage modifier to get a chance at almost killing someone? I'm all cool with what you said, except I did all of those things a while ago. |

Bat Shardo wrote:And lets see the description of Heavy dropsuit
Every vital area of the wearer is protected by 25mm composite ceramic shell or high tensile steel plates, layered with impact absorbing, compressed carbon latticework. A secondary thermal dispersion membrane channels excess heat away from the point of contact, distributing it over a larger surface area and thereby lessening the potential damage. Superconductive veins of hybrid silver coat the outer layers and connect every piece of the armor to a grounding heat sink, dampening the harmful effects of direct fire electromagnetic weaponry.
I think "Modern guns that can reach out to 750m" will have some problems to go through that kind of dropsuit :) Tell that to the CreoDron Breach shotgun. I've seen people mercilessly slain (heavy suits especially) by 2 shots to the back with a shotgun. |
