now more than ever us dedicated pilots need some. Since my gunners literally cant get any kills anymore my WP has taken a dive. We really need some incentive to play the transport role because at the moment dropships are just expensive distractions. I'm not gonna ***** about the missile nerf (although splash damage alone would have been enough) but come on, I don't mind running people around, hell, flying around is my favorite thing to do so how about...
:Any passengers that get out of your dropship, the pilot gets capture assists or kill assists for a certain amount of time (10 - 15 seconds)
:Or just give points for pick up and drop off, but that would probably lead to boosting.

Agreed wholeheartedly! Include in this LAV Drivers since often we can't get kills either (except by occasionally crushing the fat men).
I think CCP meantioned something about this in one of their posts. They said they wanted Pilots / Drivers to be rewarded for performing that action to attain an 'average' WP through the match.
I would think this would be hard to implement since not every Dropship runs a CRU, and every LAVA doesn't carry people. And if they reward DS pilots, or LAV Drivers for jkust sitting in the driver's seat, or driving at all, you'll have alot of people sitting in their bases driving LAVs or flying Dropships back and forth without coming out from behind cover and doing anything.

You guys do need some love. Pilots should get 1 point per second just for staying in the air xD
Dust should let some pilots teach a flight school. People learn how to fly, and pilots make a few extra ISK(of course they could probably just do this once players are able to give each other isk)
Of course, players will have to pay a 500k deposit(along with flight school payment) since most people will smash at least 2 or 3 vipers(I can smash 7 or 8 of em) |

+1. Appreciate your post. I'm a pilot too. And it seems CCP thinks it is easier to fall for noobs' and campers' nagging about dropships flying around.
To be fair It should be said: it is not so easy to kill heavie or good, skilled assault trooper with even top rocket turret and eagle-eye gunners. I have advanced sniper dropsuit with tanked shields and I was killed by dropship only once before rockets wew nerfed. There was perfect balance. So, dropship-haters are just worthless noobs.
CCP, if you see dropships only as suport vehicle, give us, dropships pilots, WP for spawning troops on CRU. Give us kill assists and raised squad commisions for deploying troops over the null-guns. Otherwise, personally I see no more point in playing DUST, I'd better switch back to BF3, where choppers are ok. |

Well, right now dropships are less useful than black ops HAVs (which they removed because they're useless at this point)
Once we get bigger maps to play around with (such as skirmish at skim junction)- you'll be an effective transport. Maybe. Once, last build on skim junction, I had a dropship with a CRU hovering above A, yet nobody would get out to hack it. |

I agree with the first one completely.
In order to prevent people from boosting using the second method, the pilot should only get points for spawning players in the dropship, or from players dropping out, but it should be limited just as they plan to limit the repair tool. For instance, if you get 10 points for them spawning, and 10 points for them dropping, you can only get 120 points every 2 minutes. |
