Just curious as to whats going to be happening with the tank missle turrents? Are they going to fix them or they permanatly useless? If they're not going to fix them we will have to start calling them, HAV- Heavy Antique Vehicles... |

I don't know what they're planning to do with them, but missiles right now are far from useless. They can nuetralize enemy vehicles in just a couple of shots. Which is exactly what they were supposed to do--be AV weapons on vehicles. If you want to kill infantry get a blaster. Having a weapon that kills everything well wrecks the game. |

It's just a hotfix, meaning it'll be like that until they find a better solution. It might last a little too long, like the WP removal from repairing. |

u have blasters and rails and missiles after a slight tweak on spread will be proper AoE weapons like ppl wanted |

OK this bothers the hell out of me because I work on Armament in the US Army..
They are not missiles they are rockets. Missiles have guidance systems. Even something as simple as a Stinger's infared sensor is a guidance. Rockets go where you point them, and as such have a higher probability to veer off course.

Yea, CCP maybe went a bit overboard on the missiles, lets face it they were overpowered from a gameplay standpoint, they did need a nerf in one area, but this change has left them useless compared to the other two large turrets, and left small turrets completely useless altogether. My saga (which I used to use nearly full time) is now useless for anything other then running people over, blasters don't fit (and I'd never put one on it anyway) and small rails can't do anything. You can say they're supposed to be AV weapons, but they can't even do that anymore as they fly all over the place and can't hit anything unless it's right on top of you. And even then, the large rail does it far better.
My main gripe.... I started logi, they took away my repairing points, ok I know why, and I understand. so I found something else I could get points with (my saga) then they killed that too. I think they just hate me, careful anyone who playes logi, getting proto nanohives next, that'll probabily be the next nerf..... T_T |

Has anyone noticed that Tanks went from Blasters, to Rails, to Missiles.
I've already seen people use different weapon systems on vehicles. Tanks do Rails and blaster and have been very effective. I especially enjoy seeing dropships with blasters. Haven't seen them useful, but that pilot has balls. |

This is a load of crap. Missiles in Dust are and always have been an AOE low DPS anti group weapon. The Rail was an anti vehicle long range system, and the Blaster was a short range High DPS anti everything system. This is only different for small turrets because small rail and blasters have been just short of completely useless since day one. |

well technically with the spread now they are proper AoE weapons (spread might need tweaking a bit tho) before they fired straight
and idk what missiles u used but they were far from low DPS they one shotted most things
Small rails and blasters do need a significant buff tho |

would you rather get hit by a bullet or a missile the size of your head? I really dont get the whole missiles are AV, go sit 2 meters away from a missile explosion and tell me its not for killing infantry |

Cant kill a vehicle if all 4 missiles cant reach the target without blowing up because target is out of range
Cant kill an infantry guy who is in front of your tank aswell |

Large missile turrets weren't the only things nerfed with the patch. My proto small missiles are all but useless now. If they were going to nerf damage to balance missile turrets a 20% splash nerf to both splash range and damage and a 35% nerf to direct damage and 1.5 times the current range would have been better overall. Keep in mind the big reason turrets were OP were limitless range and full damage at all ranges, and the 20% damage boosters, already broken, made worse by weird stacking crap. |

Getting specific turrets to do a specific job is utterly stupid. Missiles should be missiles but they are godly overpowered right now I wouldn't worry about them being removed:) But geting a blaster to kill infantry? It may be good at dealing with infantry but it is not an anti infantry weapon , its a medium to short range high rof mid damage turret good at taking down both shields and armor. |
