My methana (armor LAV, if you didn't know) is fitted with an active scanner, to detect people trying to sneak around obstacles.
My methana is fitted with a prototype stabilized blaster, which kills heavies and nomnoms other infantry.
My methana can survive a direct shot (sometimes 2) from a forge gun.
But still-
My methana almost never gets a gunner (especially a gunner who knows what they're doing- only 1 person in my corp will both gun for me, and is competent)), so my methana's true potential is yet to be seen.
Why? people assume it's a starter fit baloch.
We need a way to easily distinguish between LAV tiers, but for now, READ!
If the LAV is labeled as "MLT", that means it's militia, and as you suspect, is a deathtrap. HOWEVER if the LAV is labeled as "STD" that means it's standard and therefor capable of holding its own in combat (it doesn't mean it's infected"
I don't know what logistics LAVs are labeled as, but it doesn't really matter since nobody bothers to get the skills to use them, and they're meant for supporting infantry, not to be used as an assault vehicle.

Another thing my methana does-
My methana crushes reds... WITHOUT TRYING |

WITHOUT TRYING Oh I don't doubt that it does. My forge gun also crushes without trying. I wouldn't mind going up against ya I mean literally, I was trying to pull out of a firefight before I got shot out of the driver's seat, and I clipped a red that got too close without really noticing them.
The thing I DO try to crush though, are forge gunners. I can almost see the expression when their forge shot gets me to about half armor, and I run them over. |

Since there's someone else here that uses gallente LAVs-
Do those special, more expensive (but slightly weaker) armor plates slow down your LAV? It seems they don't affect the speed of mine. |

Watch out- exploding vehicles only really damage people on your own team (really really stupid)
There was one time where the HAV my methana was using as cover was blown up, and the explosion took out my LAV.
Countless other times, I jumped out of cheaper LAVs when they were about to explode; when they do explode, you'll still die while any reds in the blast radius don't even lose shields. |

UnknowingTea wrote:All LAVs have the same weakness -- when the first swarm salvo hits you, the second one is already in the air. The only difference between a militia LAV and standard LAV is that you will know that your LAV is about to be blown up in 2 seconds so you have a chance to bail out. Unlike dropships, LAVs have a chance to avoid getting hit after the first missile hits them.
If you're in an area with lots of cover- like the center of manus peak, the northern part of line harvest, and everywhere in ashland, then you'll have no problem avoiding missiles by making a sharp turn around some cover.
With my active scanner (15 seconds of scanning, with a 3 second cooldown), I can also make sure I don't go by another waiting AVer |

I even had a time where I was supporting the tank on my team.
There was a nest of AVers focusing on shooting the tank; I snuck up behind them, killed everyone squishier than a heavy, and got the heavies to a point the tank's missiles mopped them up. |
