Not to be a d*** but read the discription. It's fairly straight forward (I think). As far as it not working I can't help unless it only activates if you've equipped armor plating... Someone else will have to chime in on that. I have mine at level 5 but never checked to see if it bumped the standard armor rating up. If it doesn't work and I dumped all those sp into it than I'm an idiot...
Good luck. |

Where are you looking?
The "more info" page for your armour doesn't show the changes. On the fitting screen, select the suit you want and look at the "armour" stat. It should show the actual armour value. In-game numbers where you can see your armour value should be increased as well.
If you're in the "edit" screen with your suit selected to show the base stats, that shows BASE stats without any skills applied. So does the "more info" screen, and so does the suit data you get when you select the "create fitting" option. |

I'm looking in battle. There is no armor point increase when I'm in battle. |

It should be there. If you go to an info screen (either in your fitting screen, or in marketplace) and look up the stats in your suit, it'll be different than in battle. For example, a type-1 assault is 125 shields and 175 armor. (just look at your default militia suit) In battle your armor will be higher than 175. |

It gives you 5% more armor per level. |

It is not. I have a scout suit and lvl 3 mechanics but my armor is still 90. My logibro is still 125 armor aswell. |

Are you expecting to see different armour values in battle from the fitting screen? You won't, that's not how it works.
Get enough SP for level 4. Before you train it though, pick a fit and look at the stats. Then train level 4, go back to the fitting screen and compare the stats to what you had before.
Post your suit type, fitting and skills maybe? |

To see how effective Mechanics, etc is do the following:
1. Call in militia LAV.
2. Look at LAV to see its armor and shield stats.
3. Get in LAV and see updated stats. |
