The difference in stats between Dropsuits is minimal in terms of their base shield/armour stats.
But that extra PG/CPU (and extra slots in some cases) can mean the difference between advanced or Prototype shield and armour mods, or damage mods, or whatever else you want to fit your suit with. Use your improved suit's improved fitting capabilities to improve your fitting.
If you can't make that work, it's not CCP's fault. |

If you can't make that work, it's not CCP's fault. Yes, because assaults having 3/3 slots (I think?) at proto over 2/1 at standard plus an extra equipment slot and CPU/PG and logistics having 4/4 slots at proto over 2/2 (I think?) at standard plus extra equipment slots and CPU/PG is the same as the heavy having 3/2 slots at proto over 2/1 at standard. Get out of here. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realise I'd said anything about the devs applying the same balance formula across the board, regardless of the difference in stats, prupose and function between different suit types.
Oh wait.... I NEVER SAID THAT.
Don't treat me like a child, don't disregard my point without actually reading it, and definitely don't try to put words in my mouth. That never turns out well. My post was addressing the PROVABLE FACT that ALL Dropsuits get better when you look at the more advanced versions in comparison with the previous versions. Heavy, Assault, whatever. The higher-tier versions are always able to be better-fitted than the previous versions.
Higher-tier Heavy suits are better than the ones that came before them. Same as any other suit type. Different suit types are better in different ways, to better support different types of fittings. Yes, Assaults get a lot more slots, and a lot more versatility. Heavies are better at what they do too. But they do different things from Assault suits. |

Bendtner92 wrote:Now you're the one putting words in my mouth. I never said the proto heavy wasn't better than the standard, but it doesn't give much improvement. Getting one extra high and low slot for that extreme price tag it has is just not worth it in general.
Also, the fact that a fully decked out proto logi can put out about 900HP, almost the same as a standard heavy and not much less than a proto heavy as well as having several equipment slots, is just lolworthy. I never put words in your mouth. I never claimed - or even implied - that you said Heavies don't get better. I was just pointing out that they DO get significantly better with the improvements that are available.
And a Proto Logi suit can ALMOST match a Standard Heavy's HP - but wastes most of the other potential the suit has, and still goes without a Heavy Weapon option and a Sidearm Slot. One weapon, and only one, and it can't be Heavy, in exchange for ALMOST the same armour as a low-tier Heavy can get. |
