Although I agree
you get better shields with caldari and since the shields are what can actually save your behind these days(this patch)
IF your going to put money and skills into them (IDK why with LAVs) why not get the one that will last longer and has better manueverability armor adds weight- weight means slower |

yea but the point of a Lav is the speed... and with this build shields might make it last longer with boosters and rechargers
I personally love having armor repairers and a very large amount of armor but that makes for a slow tank.
why not just bypass the lav in the first place and go tank?

even the militia tanks can be killing machines Soma's with good armor and repairers can be disasterous Sica with lots of shields and shield boosters as well, and better for this build |

Depends on what you want to do (I have both)
If you want to do constant hit and run attacks around the map (most popular LAV playstyle), I suggest caldari. If you want to closely support infantry with suppressing fire, the use of a mCRU, or the use of a logistics LAV, I suggest gallente.
I've been experimenting with some gallente LAV w/ blaster play styles recently. I figured the most effective thing with that is to fit your LAV with an active scanner, and carry someone such as a shotgunner or HMG heavy in the passenger seat to kill infantry that try sneaking away from your gunner's blaster fire.
However, it's hard to find a random who's good with a hybrid turret, so I suggest finding a corpmate that's willing to learn through trial and error. |

go for caldari simple cause the skillbook cost less and shields have a 30% resistance against Av grenades and swarms. Another thing is shield LAV's usually drive faster because they dont need armor plating that slows them down. |

I forgot how much a pain the gallente skillbook was to buy. As far as speed goes, I didn't notice a difference- however that might be because I'm not using the regular armor plates, I'm using a lighter kind. |

Also, gallente LAVs (and armor mods in general) have more TOTAL shields + armor than caldari LAVs.
What does this mean? Hybrid weapons (such as railguns and possibly forge guns) will heave a tougher time time taking you down |
