I like your ideas for the new turrets very much, but have to point out a few things where I disagree on the current weapons.
Tzaar Bomba wrote:Railgun: is at the moment Perfect in my opinion. Slow tracking speed with high damage and a small splash circumference. Just like a tank firing A.P shells. Also the splash is low damage. I think this Turret is perfect, if you desire a quicker tracking speed they offer variants at a higher Pg/CPU cost. Prediction: people will whine until this beautiful thing no longer has any range (look up REAL rail gun technology youll notice theyre being generous as it is with its current limitation). I disagree with the claim that they're "perfect" personally. I think they should track slowly, but I think the current speed is just a little bit TOO slow for them to be practical. They're a little bit TOO situational as AV sniper weapons at present, but without the range to back that niche. If they DON'T get a turn speed increase, they need a LARGE range buff. And yes, I mean "across the map" large.
Quote:Blaster: in my opinion should shoot faster, but where it sits now still highly effective vs. infantry as it should be. Just because youre in a heavy suit does not mean you should destroy a tank. Blasters are anti infantry and as such should absolutely destroy and infantry it comes across in just a few shots. It has no splash, but it shoots moderately quickly. Stop whining about being destroyed by something built specifically to destroy infantry. Prediction: damage and ROF nerf. I doubt anyone will be calling for blaster nerfs. If anything, more people want them buffed than nerfed, from what I've seen. Most infantry are fine with blasters. I know I am.
Quote:Missile: as of the event on the 21st of november everything is great, EXCEPT the dispersion, while i do agree yes it needs to be slightly inaccurate, no rocket propulsion system will shoot a rocket from a tube into the ground when you are aiming straight up. Especially when the rockets have stabilizing fins. And yes as of right now they are rockets, rockets are unguided explosive munitions, missles are guided. Id love to see a lower dispersion rate on them. But as for the range reduction, splash damage reduction, and everything else good job. I dont use missle turrets but its nice not being utterly destroyed from their red zone while i cant even touch them. Prediction: the dispersion will get reduced but missles will fall out of favor. I wouldn't mind the dispersion if it weren't for the splash radius. I'd actually rather see them buff the radius back up than reduce dispersion. That way, you'd have an effective mid-range area denial weapon, and they'd still be at least somewhat useful in close range.
While I agree that these will fall out of favour even if they're buffed back into line with where they should be, I'm still planning to run missiles simply because I like them. I'm big into form over function, I'm a fan of Caldari because I think all their stuff looks cooler, and I like missiles more than railguns for no logical reason I can come up with. But I do, so missiles for me. |
