I know how to fly them, and I get the thruster part, but how does it keep in the air? The fact that it has no wings confuses the crap out of me..... Give me a non-hateful awsner, and you get a cookie |

Because sci-fi? I honestly don't know. Looking at things like Galaxies in Planetside 1 for who knows how many years means I just accept it.
Just imagine it's kinda like a chopper and you'll be fine. |

Ever notice that the thrusters are always angled at downward to some degree? Pretty sure it's just thrust vectoring vs. gravity. |

They just direct the thrust from their engines properly. It's the same thing that lets a helicopter fly and control it's direction, |

Look up videos of the F-35 taking off and landing. It has wings but they dont provide lift or stability when performing VTOL |

I could give you a long winded explanation of the physics behind direct jet propulsion or I can dumb it down.
basically you have 2 vertical thrusters located at the front of the ship that gives you your pitch
the controllable thrusters at the back give you your yaw and also controls stability |

go really fast and hit the insta-brick button (L2) and you will see that you're not far off. thrusters provide lift, much like a helicopters blades. |

I just want to say this while this is here.
I bought a Militia Dropship couple of days ago, but it won't leave the ground, period.
No matter what button I press it jut sits there like a big waste of metal.
I tried with both the Gorgon and Viper, but it didn't matter which one I tried so...
Could anyone help me with this? |

you forgot to pay your parking tickets and they booted your dropship.now you have to puchase the dmv skill book and skill up in hostile negotiations with public employees until you hit level 5,then your going to need the ticket paying skillbook and level it to 3,and you will also need the waiting in line skillbook at level 4. then you should be able to lift your dropship off the ground.....or stop eating so many space twinkees and your dropship would be able to lift your big a$$. |

Makuta, here's a checklist for ya to see what's wrong
1. bring in a ship and be the first to get in it so you are in the drivers seat. You will get the third person view with a bunch of instructions on the screen.
2. Press and hold L1 to engage thrusters.
3. If this does not work then either your L1 button is broken or you have a bug that needs to be looked at. Post your bug report to the proper forum thread and CCP will take a look at it.

I know for a fact that no-one but myself was in the Dropship so it must be a bug.

It's a bluetooth controller bug. Try turning off the bluetooth remote if you have one or turn your dualshock off and then on again.
I've been dealing with this bug since last build and this workaround works 100% for me. |
