Hey CCP, i'm not sure if this has been adressed but i know myself and maybe others would really like to see and match that runs atleast 30 minutes long, maybe an option for 1 hour for some people who like to have long grudge matches agianst other teams. i really think this could help in the short term atleast so the waiting isnt as bad. right now i find myself waiting atleast 3 minutes to play a match that only lasts 10 minutes, alot of times even less when using the quick battle option. i know there is a crowd for fast paced and quick matches but i am sure there is also a large crowd who likes to get into a match were you can switch things up and counter teams, learn the maps better, and i also enjoy games that can swing back and forth not just getting a quick lead then things are all but over for the other team. Also i think for alot of us it would make the match more important when you have put a good amount of time in it, in short i feel like the match length right now just doesnt let things develop. Feedback is welcome! |

Well the ambush mode is supossed to be short, skirmish is fine too in my opinion even though for a letter capping mode, you are right, it is short. I believe CCP has it on their list to make longer matches though, cause when it comes down to planet attacking/defending a 10 minute match just isn't enough. |

i agree completely, i'm not a game dev so i dont know this answer but wouldnt it be pretty easy to implement this? or would it put alot of pressure on the server and drop outs and things like that? |

I want longer battles as well. Everytime I hit my merc quarters it gives me the thought should I re up , I have like a surgar crash. I don't think this will ever happen though, ccp design has cemented us into small time lengths with the market place. In mag a player could die up to 60 times in domination. You would have to front that isk before the start that I think would be hard for most players. Also it doesn't fit the social aspect either that makes no sense, econd life with mercs style |

so lame. lets design a game type specifically to be longer. ambush feels fine and skrimish feels good too unless its one sided and feels really long.
lots more to come in dust especially bigger maps, not to mention custom mcc that will probably have more ehp |

I imagine battles will get longer when we expand the maps. Ain't the maps we have now just tiny sections? (Zoom out on the respawn screen...)
Give us that whole map, 128 players, two controllable MCCs and a way to tank them, and you'll see games go on for longer than an hour. |

yeah i just thought it would help just to have the option, espicially now when waiting for a game can take so long for some people, then its over in 5 mins,then they have to go straight back to merc zone and then queue up agian over and over. thought if they had just the option for longer game it might just make it easier in the short term. i really wouldnt have much of a problem if it started another match right up |

I agree the time limit should be extended (if not removed).
My logic is this: If a team can make a comeback after the other team has dominated most of the match (which does happen) then what is to say a team couldn't win a match during "overtime" with fewer clones? If the timer ends a match and one team wins with 30 clones over the other team's 10 then that unfairly removes a teams chance to win (as small as it may be).
This is especially sad because if two teams play a match up to the time limit then they were probably fairly evenly skilled. I want to play a match down to every last clone because that can be the most exciting part of a match! You know, when you are losing a match 5 to 10 and your adrenalin is pumping and your team gets it together to for those last minutes of action. Everything matters at that point. Why take that away? |

in game this may be either something only players who have been around for a bit/have a corp or the isk reward would need to be increased because let's face it in a 30+ min match you would need :
A: prototype gear to make sure you don't die too often
or
B:a crap load of suites

This is not an issue. ISK would be balanced in line with longer matches, meaning you would get much more. If it was a 30 min match, you would get roughly 3 times what you get now for a 10 min match. |

Yes please. Longer battles would be great.
At the same time though imagine how awful it would be if your team was getting tromped. I can't imagine many people would stay in a red lined game for an hour. |

I guess longer battle match can be make by the increase the size of the map i mean i will be more interesting, make longer battale on the big maps! Beside it, here we can see useful vehicle as a transport not as power of domination. |

Swarm laucher will help all dropship using.
And beside it's need some real big maps, as the dropships is useless now. Cars almost have same reason to use. |

If the battle finder stops dropping us into battles already in progress we'll have longer battles anyway because we'll actually be playing the whole time. Not that I'm specifically opposed to longer match types, those might be interesting as well, however I think the battle finder should be looked at first.

Not until the respawn bug is fixed.
Too many times I get the respawn timer of "--:--" which indicates I won't be able to respawn after a death and I will eventually get kicked from the match when I "refuse" to rejoin the battle. That counts as a quit and forfeit all ISK and SP earned so far.
Longer matches means a greater probability of the bug and a greater loss when it does happen. |

Longer matchjes are already possible.
You can 'repair' the MCC... thus increasing the amount of time the hostile forces take to take it down.
Granted this was an exploit ability, but the actual tactic imho is fine. EVE ships have repair modules, Vehicles in Game have repair Modules...
The other option to increase match times is when the Commander gets to control the MCC... if they can 'fit' the MCC similarly to an EVE Ship or DUST Vehicle, you could have some extremely long matches. |
