Been playing games for a long time, mostly i play ME3 MP and Battlefield 3. Im not new to betas either. The first thing that's painfully obvious is how vet players are so OP(Im talking shield and armor strength). Just tonight i unloaded an smg clip into some guy where i would say 90% of the shots hit(the red X) there was still 1/3 of his shield left and he turned around and killed me with 4 shots and this was not the only time this ever happened. It seems like you guys are applying a PvE design to a PvP game, most players wont stick around too long if this remains that's for sure. Lets see in another game tonight it must have been new players vs vets at the end of the game our entire team literally had 1 kill, the other team was mostly in airships and stuff..Que balance would help...
I would suggest normalizing the shields and armor on all drops suits to be the same and let the modules determine the hit points. Just sayin.
As for the maps and spawning, did you guys even think about them? I'm not exaggerating when i say that half of my drop suits are lost because as i spawn in people are already shooting me. The maps themselves are really bland, People are playing this on a PS3 not a 486.
Ill just make a list...
1)Make use a of a new skillbook an option in your assets panel. (in its current state its tricky to figure out how to use em) 2)I would seriously reconsider supporting the MOVE(Your giving players that have the move a huge advantage) 3)Dodge Roll please? 4)Remove player blips from the mini map altogether 5)Get rid of Orbital strikes. Neat idea, bad for the game. 6)Increase accuracy on the militia weapons 7)Decrease accuracy on HMG's 8)Enable friendly fire from all vehicles/ships 9)Load times... 10) Yes people i know this is a beta 11) Dont think your tough guys by ignoring balance/fairness, unless your shooting for an extremely low player base.
ok thats all for now. |

Ahhaha, was that you? Hehe, just kidding
I worked my way up from being a Dust noob, and I'll admit it was hard, and i still have a loooong way to go, but IMO this is how it should be.
I'll also admit that there are some imbalances to the game (mostly with AV Vs. V) but in my opinion these are small beta problems that can easily be fixed.
I'm not following you on the drop suit complaint. You worried about shield tanking stay close to the other members of your team or role with the shotgun or sheld tank yourself, getting one bursted by the GEK-AR (do you know how expensive those things are, not to mention shield and armor tanking?) buy a GEK and go on a one burst rampage yourself, but I guarantee that you are not going to like getting taken by surprise by three reds, at the same time, and loosening fifty to eighty grand on one dropsuit.

It's not about a PvE, PvP cross. It is about reality, and in reality, war is any thing but fair. What you are suggesting is to nerf everything so that no one has an unfair advantage. Why dont we all just sit around and see who can twiddle their thumbs the fastest? Sir, if you had been born to the spartan culture, you would have never reached puberty.

Oh god, please don't. These are the kind of nerfs that would make me leave.

I quite enjoy the level design so far.

The only thing I seem to agree with you on. |

Seriously, do you expect to get down a guy with Assault Rifle by using SMG? SMG IS secondary weapon, i usually can take down 2-3 people with SMG when i am out of ammo in my bloody AR, it takes Skill. Also notice an Optimal on SMG. Not an excuse.
1)Make use a of a new skillbook an option in your assets panel. (in its current state its tricky to figure out how to use em) Skill learning a bit messed up, i do agree :(
2)I would seriously reconsider supporting the MOVE(Your giving players that have the move a huge advantage) Move is horrible in this game, in all aspects.
3)Dodge Roll please? So a Heavy with his ~100-150kg suit going to roll ?
4)Remove player blips from the mini map altogether That what SCAN (Scan profile, Scan precision) is for, learn to use it.
5)Get rid of Orbital strikes. Neat idea, bad for the game. This is what this game about, Orbital strikes... Maybe CCP should abandon EVE communication?
6)Increase accuracy on the militia weapons Militia weapons right now is OK, you can take off ADV people with it and end up 20/10 KDR easily. I've played once using only militia gear to get money (12 hours of nonstop play) and rarely ended up in negative KDR.
7)Decrease accuracy on HMG's While i agree at some point (i've been sniped from 50km by HMG) HMGs in current state are fine, if you have a full stamina and know how to kite you have no problems killing Heavy.
11) Dont think your tough guys by ignoring balance/fairness, unless your shooting for an extremely low player base. Noone saying this game is any sort of "fair", you play more - you get more. This is not a WoW or any sort of casual game, where you can log once a week, do some stuff for a hour or two, and be on par with Veterans guys who play 18/7. This is how it should be.
All that predictions and lolexpectations that theese COD/BF guys are doing is silly. Game is HARD, hard to play, hard to understand, hard to master. This is what makes it good, not the 12y/o people expecting fairness. Personally, id rather have 40k active mature players than 11mil kids the only thing that they are doing is crying on forums for fairness. (in comparison EVE-O and World of Warcraft) Also, do not forget that in Release there will be matchmaking, and you probably never gona face 20mil SP veterans with your 1.5mil soldier, unless you fight corp matches :) |
