I you have had the out of ammo problem then please post ideas or give a like to this topic. Thanks.
Out of ammo and tired of trying to get some bluberry to understand that I am a HEAVY and YES!! I need! a nanohive!! right here! and right now!! Please can we have every dropsuit heavy, scout, logi, assault, command, etc. have an integrated laser flare dispenser that when used and dropped on the ground displays this message:
"PLEASE PLACE A NANOHIVE HERE" Or. "I REALLY NEED AMMO SO DROP A NANOHIVE HERE"

Look at my suggestions here on this topic:
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=44907&find=unread
My idea would allow players to know where a logistics player is at all times, and to effectively communicate to that player what they need. |

It would be simpler to just have a flashing icon in the HUD of all nanohive carriers that show up on those with low ammo. |

Yeah, this would work best, similar to the icons for players with nanite injectors.
Edit: the icons in the HUDs of nanite carriers to find people that have died. |

Aye, a message like that would REALLY help. I try to just drop them near soldiers under cover or in a heavy firefight, and sometimes they get blown up or the people wander off.
On that note, it would be REALLY nice to be able to pick those back up. |

In EVE you broadcast when you need cap, armor, or shield. I'd propose something similar here.
As some of you are aware, squad leaders can give orders via a radial menu by holding down R2 and then pressing L3. This switches from weapon swap to squad orders.
I propose that we add a few entries to that list so that in addition to "defend this" there is also "Broadcast: shield", "Broadcast: enemy spotted", and the like. When you do this any blue dot with the means to assist sees a matching icon in your direction, similar to the syringe seen by anyone carrying a nanite injector. |

I like where you're going with this. Need to keep it simple, though. What about just need hive or need repair? Even if you have a mic it can be difficult to explain exactly where you are if there's heavy fighting. An icon popping up on anyone with a hive/repper's screen would be invaluable. |

That sounds good with a need repair icon being a wrench symbol?? Need ammo being a bullet symbol or a gun symbol??
And have these visible only to friendly forces that have either nanohives or repair tools or both??

Have two of them but that helps those bluberries with NONE!....how?? Visual icons that are visible to ALL FRIENDLIES work much better.

Also, I think Brink solved this problem quite nicely. Along with doing medics better than DUST has managed so far.
When you have a way to give out ammo (in Brink, Soldier class, in DUST, Nanohive), you should be shown ammo indicators for your teammates. in Brink, Medics see friendly and enemy healthbars more clearly, and get markers on any downed teammate, AND when you're downed, you can see the direction and distance of all friendly Medics, so you know whether they're heading your way or just hanging out with a few red dots having a friendly chat and SMG party.
Something similar in DUST would be really good. if there are 2 or 3 guys with a bit less ammo than is preferable, you could load them up before moving on. If there's only one guy nearby, but he's totally empty, toss the hive down. |

Do console FPS games not usually have voice macros?
How about they just make it so people equipped with a nano hive can see a little bar showing the ammo left for your primary weapon, then. |

There are a lot of really good ideas here so far. The following, I would like to see implemented:
Governor Odius wrote:In EVE you broadcast when you need cap, armor, or shield. I'd propose something similar here.

I espesialy like the enemy spotted idea. I think that it is important for each player to pay attention to their own ammo levels (a battle tech should not automatically know that someone is out of ammo) and the penalty for not paying attention to your ammo level should be death. The only other thing i would add here is that, this would be a standard menu available to all players, but the menu would contain additional "command" options for squad leaders.
Tech Ohm Eaven wrote:That sounds good with a need repair icon being a wrench symbol?? Need ammo being a bullet symbol or a gun symbol??

Yes, the same system for nanite injectors should be used.

Yes, while riding in a vehicle, vehicle specific commands should be available, especially: GET OUT YOU DAMNED THIEF!" or just plain "get out" followed by a specifically selected pasenger name. |

I support this.
Still wondering why there aren't markers indicating friendly nanite injectors when your downed. Would be nice to save myself the 15 seconds or so it takes for me to bleed out. |

This thread: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=44744&find=unread also has some related ideas. I'm all for a better visual communication system within Dust. Coming from the perspective of a Corp battle it would be invaluable to have additional means of communication so that comms can be kept clear for the most vital information.

I like this.
Maybe put it in the support request menu interface, and also a "need a heal" and "need a repair here" to fill out the list for reppers. |
