Have the amount of ammo a weapon has dependent on the suit with it being scout < assualt < heavy = logi in terms of how much ammo they hold I think a 20% decrease for scouts and 20% increase for heavys and logi would sufice.
This would beneift weapons that a logi commonly carrys auch as a mass driver or sniper.
It would put more thought into suits and would benefit weapons that have low ammo amounts like Mass drivers and snipers which have little ammo but a more indirect or ranged attack which makes them perfect for the logi.
Id be satisfied with just a buff towards heavys and logi with no nerf towards scouts

(My apologies if this is a useless post, I'm not in front of my ps3 to check and tired) Don't the different weapons, even in the same class i.e. assault rifle class, sniper rifle class, smg.., Have different ammo capacities? I honestly don't remember or know off hand.
I do like the idea of the different suits carrying different load outs of ammo. Sniper rounds are generally bigger than your standard infantry round. Though snipers again, generally, travel a little lighter than standard infantry. Small weight offset.
< = less than. > = greater than. Sorry, it was messing with me
You're saying that a heavy or logi carrying a SMG should be able to carry more rounds for that SMG than a scout or assault? I'm assuming the reasoning would be compartment capacity/number of pouches or something? Fair enough, but what about the primary weapon? If a heavy is carrying a missle launcher or HMG than the available space for other ammo will, necessarily, be less due to the size and/or amount of primary ammo carried. I suppose it comes down to why. Scouts have less armor which equals less weight, they should be able to carry more rounds than anyone based off of that critieria. Of course heavies would be stronger, presumably to carry the heavier weapons and armor. This should mean they would be able to carry more things... Logis have more slots overall, maybe they should be the ammo bearer for the whole squad along with their other duties?
As I said I do like the idea but I would want to know why? Larger damage weapons have heavier/larger rounds, except miniguns which have an obscene amount of rounds to make them effective. If you give the big damage weapon carriers MORE ammo on top of the damage they do where is the balancing point for everyone/everything else? Do you drop sniper ammo but increase it's damage? Tighten the shot groups of the assault rifle users while giving them longer distance? Really not trying to be a kitten d*** just, asking questions and trying to flesh out the details. |

Logis have more ammo than the other classes already.
An extra item slot means a higher chance of being equipped with a Nanohive. Being Logistics implies a resupply role, which means a higher chance of being equipped with a Nanohive. A preference for low-ammo-count support weapons means a higher chance of being equipped with a Nanohive.
More Nanohives = more ammo. |

+1 to ^ short and simple as opposed to my reply...
"More Nanohives = more ammo" I do carry nanohives on my sniper build for that reason. |

I don't really feel like checking to see if I am right but if memory serves me correctly all weapons come with a fixed amount of reloads. 4 or 5? I would like larger magazines, but if you are constantly running short on ammo, then yes, carry nano hives. |

mainly this idea came from Logi preferring MD and MD having low amounts of ammo but i thought about it and it made sense certian suits could have more or less ammo with out ever having to use nanohives they would simply have more or less room for it. is i pinballed this in my head i figured heavy weapons like HMG and forges wouldnt be affect because they are already exclusive to heavyGÇÖs.
mainly this is to help logi have more ammo for weapons with low ammo amounts so they can have more before they are force to use a nanohive. besides nanhives our resupplies not more ammo |

Now stand on a friendly Nanohive while firing your Mass Driver and count the number of shots. I bet it's higher.
Higher-tier Nanohives have more supplies, which gives you more ammo, but cost more PG/CPU, so a better Logi Suit can more easily fit them without sacrificing the other elements of the loadout.
A well-kitted-out Assault with only one equipment slot HAS to give up something else to bring a Nanohive. A well-kitted-out Heavy (unless it's a type II) can't even bring a Nanohive. A well-fitted Scout will often find something else more useful than the Nanohive. Even if you don't need the equipment slot specifically, the PG/CPU requirements are tighter on most non-Logi suits, so there's less freedom to bring the Nanohive when you're loaded with high-tier weapons and modules.
Also, the fittings are based on the size/capabilities of the suit. The only way this could possibly make sense is if you argue that a Heavy Weapon slot should get an ammo bonus when equipping a Light Weapon or Sidearm. The same could apply to Sidearms in a Light Weapon slot. And even then, there's the counter-argument that the ammo space is the same for each weapon, and the only difference is the suit's ability to support the weapon's weight. |
