Always good to read these spotlights and see how other CEOs are doing it. It's a tough job, and deserves as much recognition as possible from the community. |

Y'know CCP if you were to allow polls to be set up on the forum, you could poll users for CEOs to spotlight, I'm willing to bet you could also round up some volunteers to continue this tradition and set up a system for who would make the polls and justify a spotlight etc, and then actually do it.
Just throwing my hat out there. |

I have put a lot of work into building a successful medium sized (70ish) corporation. I think all my experiences, starting with pretty much nothing, and making it to where I am now would be great Spotlight material. |

I agree, so ask and you shall receive my friend:
Do your members come from various gaming scenes GÇô both console FPS gamers and EVE capsuleers? Yes. I first created D3LTA FORC3 in 2003 on the SOCOM 2 game. Since then we've been competitive on many different titles including all the SOCOM titles, Multiple Call of Duty titles, and even MAG. We also have a presence in EVE, and many of our members have both DUST and EVE accounts active in our corporation.
What is GÇ£the perfect recruit" to you and your corporation? My perfect recruit is not someone who has all skills, or even has the best k/d ratio. What we're looking for is players who are willing to learn, grow, communicate, and ultimately achieve success through teamwork, not just individual skill. I tell the members of D3LTA FORC3, that winning the game, or being the #1 player at the end of a match is not good enough for us, and that we expect the entire squad to place 1-4 in every match. That level of teamwork must be trained. We have a very organized and in depth training manual to help each and every member achieve this level of success if they are willing to put in the work. My "Perfect Recruit" is someone willing to do that.
WhatGÇÖs the biggest piece of advice you have for new players coming into DUST? Character Specialization. If you have 10 different dropsuit fittings on your profile, ranging from snipers, to shotgun scouts, to heavies... You're not going to do well in DUST 514. We train our members to pick a certain role and specialize in it. Become an expert in that one craft. It's more than just training skills or using a specific weapon, it's becoming that single role on the battlefield. Instead of 10 different classes of fits, you should have finely tuned fits with small differences to adapt your role as a (logi, scout, assault, heavy...) to different situations, not just completely change the type of character you choose to be.
Corporations require very responsible players on the leadership positions. What are you looking for in a GÇ£directorGÇ¥ position in your Corporation? The Directors in D3LTA FORC3 all have a unique job to do. It's more than just being a dominant player on the battlefield, it's giving a part of your personal time to help the corporation be as effective and efficient as possible. I also focus on training true leadership skills, not just personnel management. There is a huge difference between the two, and it's part of why we have been so successful for nearly 10 years.
What do your corporation members think about the starship tactical strike support feature that is coming from EVE players? I have used examples like this for more than a year to bring players from all walks of competitive gaming to DUST 514. Coordinating these attacks is so much fun, and realizing that many times we're working with people across the world while doing it is a blast. We actually were part of this gameGÇÖs early history when two EVE based news outlets wrote articles about us coordinating attacks with a faction warfare militia during one of the weekend OB events just after the open beta was released. Improving on this mechanic and doing it on a larger scale is something I am excited about, and something I plan on continuing to use to bring in new players from different gaming backgrounds.
Are you currently in an alliance that includes EVE capsuleers and corporations? Do you think that forming an alliance and big corporations is important? I started playing DUST 514 in May of 2012. For 3 months prior to that I had a few friends that kept telling me how big this game was going to be, and how complex it was going to be. Once I started doing research into it I was hooked. The level of complexity and the heights you can achieve in New Eden are simply mind blowing. I built D3LTA FORC3 from the ground up, starting with 4 players from my COD clan, and we now have over 900 members. I'm also one of the top leaders in an alliance with over 2,300 members called the Orion Empire, which I also helped found and build from the ground up. I don't think being large and complex is necessary. You can have plenty of fun and be very successful with just a small group of friends (it's a lot less of a headache too). For me though, what drew me to New Eden was the sand box concept, and I fully intend on taking both D3LTA FORC3 and the Orion Empire to places never even imagined before.
Where can players go to learn more about your organization? We're pretty easy to find. They can come to www.d3ltaforc3.com to find out more about our history, code of conduct, or requirements to join. They can also apply to the corp directly in game by searching for "D3LTA FORC3" For any CEO interested in joining the Orion Empire, they can add the GÇ£Orion DiploGÇ¥ chat channel and weGÇÖll schedule a meeting with them from there.
What are your goals for the future in DUST? D3LTA FORC3 has never been a loud mouthed, chest thumping, smack talking community. We're more laid back and focused on our core values, which are leadership, communication, organization, recruiting and results. We're not focus on comparing ourselves to others, we just want to improve ourselves every chance we get, have fun, build friendships, and be competitive at the same time. It's hard to say what our exact goals are because so much is still unknown, however, we'll remain focused on what we are founded on and continue to push ourselves to achieve greater and greater success.

What feature is your corp most excited about coming to DUST 514? It has to be Planetary Conquest. This is what originally drew me to both DUST 514 and EVE. It's what our corporation and alliance has been preparing over a year for. It's so complex and grueling to plan for, I can't wait to actually start battling and having fun competing with the other corps to carve out a section of space to call our own.
Does your corporation favor any specific tactics in matches? What type? Mass red-dot killing : ) Long before knowing that Planetary Conquest was going to be heavily clone based, we practiced in corp battles with focusing more on "cloning" enemies as opposed to just destroying their MCC. Because of our large player base and training policies of being a specialist in one area, we really don't have any one specific tactic or strength. We have all our bases covered when it comes to selecting participants for each and every battle we engage in, from tanks to remote explosives, we make sure to have the ability to counter any enemy tactic.
These are the links to the 2 articles I referenced in my response. http://www.gamerchick.net/2013/02/dust-in-wind.html http://themittani.com/news/dust-impacts-eve-not-without-its-issues
