I think I would make so that you play as wirelessly operated drones instead of humans. We could control drones from long distances instantly through quantum entanglement (or however method we currently use to transfer consciousness after death). Imagine instead of walking, you floated above the ground like >>This<<. Gameplay would pretty much be the same though, just the way everything look as well as the lore around the mercs would change. There would still be functionally the same fitting systems and items. Why would I want this? I want to control something non-human(oid) for once in an FPS, and I think its way more practical and believable that we would be using machines to do our combat then weak squishy humans (no matter how armored) thousands of years in the future.
Tell me a crazy way you would change Dust 514. Nothing about gameplay tweaks, or fixing lag, or "making it not suck". |

A Crazy way to change it ? I would make DUST 514 a RTSMMO game ... Not sure how RTS in the MCC will work ... but it's nothing like what I have in mind. Thousands of troops, resources, control of moons and planets... secret atomics cache in the far side of a planet...

I would add civilians, colonists, workers, whatever they should be to add life to the worlds. Both in EVE and now in DUST all we encounter are the immortals. Make target selection count and charge fines or remove war points for killing the locals.
Having them look at us as heroes or tremble in fear is just a bonus. |

I think it would be cool if there was some RTS elements with the squad system. Instead of being in a squad with other players, you play as the leader of a squad of like 7 NPC mercs. Squad leaders would be real players (and more points would be awarded for killing them), while regular squad members would be NPCs you can move around and give commands to RTS style. The same number of real players would still be in the battle, but each real player would control a bunch more mercs, meaning there would be an insane amount of mercs on the battlefield. Squad leaders could form platoons with other real players, and pool their assets and work together kind of like the current squad system. |

Each district on a planet as large as avg size continent on Planetside, with capital districts being larger and more urban. Add in truly massive numbers of players fighting for control of a district, thereby making each planet in Dust like the entirety of planetside. Dont see sony letting that happen though :(
Also, can we walk inside more buildings? |

I would like to see that a merc can travel on the whole surface of each planet in the game. Base the landscape on the textures of planets in space. Allow any PI structure in Eve to show up in dust (thus making it a more worthy place to attack or defend). To travel from one place to the next you need to either drive/fly there. The most common way would be personal jet or carrier. There could also be the possibility of commiting suicide and just recloning at any CRU you own but that wouldn't be possible if you are invading a planet.
Additionally I'd like to see more do with with hacking itself. Maybe have some use for a hacking simulation to take advantage of areas on a planet (Anyone played hacker Evolution?). It would be rad to start the invation of a planet by hacking a good portion of their defenses and turning it against them. |

This would have to be done on the PC side as I don't think PS3 could support this but I would just make Dust part of the Eve universe. Be a pod pilot or a ground pounder, anything goes if you got the skills & ISK.

I think a player's sig radius should be inflated in relation to the size of their ego.
Some of the dillweeds on this forum could be seen two maps over.

Have a kidnapp Corporation that has secret tunnels and whose objective is ganking clones hardware to sell on market afterwards and this adds another dynamic element to battles. Imagine ganking blackops HAVS and giving back a militia hulk......LOL!!!!
Clone deploys with Duvolle AR and Proto mods/suit. Gankers pop out of secret tunnel and throw a webifier grenade and clone "sleeps" for ten seconds. Gankers have ten seconds to gank all gear and tanks and replace it with militia or starter items. Clone wakes up and goes wheres my protostuff? WHAAAAAA.

I would give up the connection to eve in order to make dust able to be adjusted into a great tactical shooter. Also ccp wouldn't have to find ways for eve to interact that hurt dust then help. Plus any idea or feedback wouldnt be argued and dismissed at the start because they wouldn't have to protect their mmo from changing.
I would look through the skills again and condense them. I don't think we need 6 to 8 skills per anything. This would shift the focus dust on the battlefield and not on the skill system before a battle.
I would get rid of the text base information and make more like a mass effect stat screen for weapons , skills, and armor. Level bars and pictures do wonders to relay information.

Make all assets physical! Yeah, you heard me. There would soon be warehouses built by and for both eve and dust players (obviously, they would be different, due to size and location)- people would soon be hiring guards (from both sides of the universe) to guard these. There may even be security and logistics corporations set up to manage warehouses, and do the best job possible to protect them from thieves.

Actually, I'd rather dust feel more like the old N64/PC game Battlezone. Basically two sides have a command center, a recycler, and a factory. The recycler can make scavengers that go out and collect metal from destroyed ships. The metal can then be used for turrets, scouting ships, tanks, or even walkers.
The best part about this is that once your tank is destroyed, you can run around on the battlefield and literally snipe vehicles in order to disable and use them for your own. You only have 3 sniper rounds though, so it's not something that can be abused.
A way to apply this to dust is that we would have dust players driving vehicles to get scrap metal for the team, then players could use a chunk of that metal to build their own heavier ships with their own fittings. Other players might want to use a satellite station to set up command objectives, while others might want to work with the scavengers to help build turrets around the base.
The big flaw with this system is that the resources would be shared with others, but oh well. |

That change has already come and gone, this game was bigger, better and deeper in the 2009 Fanfest played demo... but they decided to switch from the carbon engine to unreal... this of course was to allow for smoother, simplified resource requirement and thereby management for distribution to a now almost 10 year old console. You will not hear me disagree for a second that this game should have been released for PC. |

No wait, I'd make it exactly like Star Wars Battlefront with the space battles and taking over an MCC from the inside.
Seriously, Dust reminds me so much of this game it's crazy.
Different classes and fittings, vehicles, lots of crazy people running around shooting at each other with blasters and explosions on decent sized maps, capturing control points, upgrading weapons, the list goes on. |

SP would never affect base damage or hp. Period. SP should be for access to better gear and make applying dps easier. If 100M SP in militia gear is equal damage and health with 0 SP in the same fit, long term balance would be a lot better. That is my opinion.
(for an example of what skills should do - kick, turn speed, movement speed, fitting space, reload speed, stamina, etc) |

I would like to summon Anima and take down dropships ;p well, it would be plausible if you want...a planet with some kind of strange giant creatures....and by the way i think that with this excuse they can change the game as they want. Infinite possibilities: other dimensions for example!!! |
